    I had brown patches on a couple of my hostas and was told it was because they got sunburn. I moved them to somewhere they didn't get full sun all day and they recovered. Might be worth trying.

    Yes, that's really helpful - many thanks. The suggestion of 500 a year makes sense - I think it would kill me to dig up 2,000 in one fell swoop! I might see if i can find anyone who wants to practice their bulb-digging skills... Thanks Doug.

  • Where are my daffodils?

    The people who owned our house before us planted 2,000 dafodils - 1,000 yellow and 1,000 white. The photos look magnificent. They then moved and the house stood empty for 3 years, during which time a landscape company came in and mowed everything, including the green leaves. A neighbour rescued some the third year and they are blooming away in her yard
