Rob Owen has been TV Editor at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette since June 1998.
Through columns, reviews and feature stories, he covers television from a local and national perspective with one overriding goal: to pull back the curtain on the most pervasive communications medium. Owen strives to take readers behind the scenes and show them how the inner workings of television impact what they see.
Owen previously worked as a TV/radio writer at the Albany, NY, Times Union and as a features writer at the Richmond Times-Dispatch in Richmond, Va., where he helped create a section for teen readers.
Owen wrote the book "Gen X TV: The Brady Bunch to Melrose Place," which was published in hardcover by Syracuse University Press in February 1997. The paperback edition was published in March 1999.
Owen is a past president of the Television Critics Association. He is a 1993 graduate of Syracuse University.
