Where should the Penguins take the Stanley Cup?

Since the Penguins won the Stanley Cup Friday night, the famed NHL trophy has been to Mario Lemieux's house, South Side celebrations and a Pirates game at PNC Park.

As the Penguins have the Cup over the next year, where else should they take it?

I told my FaceBook friends in Detroit that the Stanley Cup was hanging out with the Lombardi Trophy and the only way Detroit would see those trophies at the same time is to visit Pittsburgh...

Let people take pictures with BOTH trophies and charge $2 - split the money between the favorite charities of the two teams...

our city of champions is one of the only in America with a museum just for its sports teams! doesn't it make sense that the cup should be on public display down the sports museum in the strip? all the cool stuff they already have PLUS THE CUP will be an awesome celebration and just get people more fired up for Steelers season!

    LETS GO PENS!

Since they've acknowldged how big a role the fans have been, they should have a public viewing/picture session of the Cup at the Arena for a couple days some weekend coming up.

They can charge a dollar or two for admission, with all proceeds going to the Lemieux Cancer Foundation.

    A win-win for everyone.

I'm a life long Detroiter and Red Wing fan.  I believe that the better team won, and congratulate the Penguins organization.  But in Hockeytown, the one thing that never would have happened is this.  Taking the Stanley Cup to the ball park when the host Pirates were facing the Tigers was just opportunistic and bush.  I'm serious - would have never happened in Detroit should the situation have been reversed.  That, Crosby's handshake fiasco, and Talbot's continued yapping have stoked the flames for next year, when it would not have to have been so.  The one thing the Penguins have to learn is class.  Hopefully, now that they've been there, they will acquire it.

    You're joking right?

I mean, was it a Bettman conspiracy that got the Tigers to play the Pirates that weekend so that if the Pens won, they'd be able to rub it in Detroit's face?

    Unbelievable.

They took it to the park as a way to share it with the city.

And here I thought that Detroit fans were supposed to be "classy" in defeat.

paddlebobb are you for real!  That just goes to show that Detroit Red Wing fans are very very very sore losers!  And I do mean losers!  Get a grip maybe Detroit does not want to share their achievements with the city but when you are the CITY OF CHAMPIONS that is the way we roll!  Go back to you papers and cry the blues and leave us alone!

I agree with the first Steelers home game--too bad it's not against the Lions, but they do play them this year also.

At some point, they should take it to Wilkes-Barre.  The fans there have supported the minor league team for 10 years, watching guys like Orpik, Scuderi, Fleury, Talbot, Kennedy and Letang (not to mention others that have been traded like Armstrong and Christensen) all leave to become a part of the championship team.  Not to mention coaches Therrien and Bylsma as well as Mike Yeo.  As part of the Pittsburgh/Wilkes-Barre exhibition game in Septembe,r it woul dbe a real treat to bring the Cup to the game to thank those fans for their support as well.

    Kennywood to ride the Thunderbolt.

To the new arena so it knows it's allowed there - or would that be jinxing the new arena since it wasn't earned there??

I believe it went to PNC park to be shared with the fans and to hopefully rub some magic on the Pirates.

hey paddlebobb, do you really want to start a discussion regarding classless fans?  I guess you didnt hear the Wings fans cheer when Sid was injured in Game 7 !   And Im assuming you didnt hear the booing that went on when the Penguins held up the Cup?  ( you didnt hear any of that after Game 6 in Pittsburgh last year.  )   and regarding "Crosby's handshake fiasco" . . .  fiasco???  . . .  can you be a little more of a drama queen, eh?

Class?  We've heard enough booing and excuses out of Detroit to label you guys as classless for a long time.  Bettman wanted the Pens to win?  Detroit had more power plays.  The series was not started earlier than planned to favor the Pens - it was for all hockey fans not to have to wait an entire week before the Finals started.  Talbots' yapping?  You've got to be kidding.  Taking the Cup to PNC Park?  Brilliant idea and a great time for all involved with the Pirates and the Penguins.  A little jealousy detected there too, Hockeytown UAS fan.  Now that you and Maid Marion have come so close, maybe next time you'll appreciate it a little more and get off the Red Whines theme.
