What do you think of the Steelers' sixth Super Bowl ring?

The Steelers' sixth Super Bowl ring has 63 diamonds that go 3.61 carats, in a traditional setting of black and gold -- their biggest ring by far, dwarfing their ring from Super Bowl XL. [ Read PG story | Watch PG video ].

While the Super Bowl victory was worthy of celebration, what's your reaction to the team unveiling such a ring when the nation is in an economic recession and unemployment is near 10 percent?

 Nothing to do with the economy, that does not pertain to issuance of superbowl rings and how opulent they may be.

They are plain all out UGLY

The rings are gawdy. Which is precicely what makes them awesome.

If you are going to complain about the size of the Super Bowl ring because the economy is bad your whole entire life might be a joke.

These rings are just plain ugly, especially when compared to the XL rings.  Those rings were designed so well that even someone who knows little about football would be able to guess it was the Steelers 5th Championship.  This design reminds me of a multi LED flashlight.

Come to think about it, as big as these things are, it would have been a really cool feature if they had light emitting from each of the large diamonds.  Then they could really say their rings shine more than the Giant's "bling" from last year.

The good news is that next year they'll get another change to get it right, for ring #7

 Yeah; its big; bold; even gaudy. But If I could get one on my finger; I wouldnt be complaining..... I would be wearing that thing all over town! And dont tell me YOU wouldnt! This years will have to be EVEN BIGGER to fit SEVEN stones on it!

 I believe the unveiling of the sixth Super Bowl ring at this time gives fans and non fans alike, something to smile about in these difficult times. After hearing about the shooting in Washington then reading about and seeing the ring, it's uplifting. I'm happy for the Steelers and I hope Santonio realizes his blessing are more to come and please don't block them with negativity. I like the RING, gaudy and all wear it with joy and pride.

 What the hell would the economy have to do with the Stellers accomplishments anyway. I think it's beautiful and they earned it. Folks that don't agree either are jealous or chronic complainers.

These rings are great!  They're huge, they're loud, they're obnoxiously flashy... I will gladly accept those qualities in a SuperBowl ring.  Better to have those qualities in a ring, than in a WR *cough* Ocho-stinko *cough*

 Anyone criticizing them needs to chill out, and realize that in the end, the players who received them could give less of a crap whether or not you like them... or even if I like them.  Get over yourselves people! lol

This thing is gaudy, ugly, trashy and a slap in the face to people in Pittsburgh who are struggling to make ends meet, trying to raise a family with minimum-wage jobs.  These players are overpaid crybabies who finally worked hard enough to earn their multimillion dollar salaries, and a crappy piece of junk jewelry.  $15,000 per ring for finger candy?  How many families would that feed, clothe and keep warm during the winter?  The Steelers should be embarrassed, and hang their heads in shame.  Better yet - each player should give $15,000 to the elderly, poor and needy - THAT would be the sign of true champions.

Apparently, you have an absolutely wonderful life right now.  Someday maybe the joke will be on you.  You're probably too young to have struggled through economic depressions, and Mommy & Daddy are still taking care of their little baby boy.

 I really don't think these are intended as a fashion statement but more of an "in your face opponents" thing.  Does kind of ring of a "let them eat cake" attitude tho.

 I think it's just has tainted by steroid abuse as the first five.

I like the photo of the ring, but when I  see it on the hand of a player I'm forced to ask, "When does the Super Bowl Belt Buckle begin to be the thing?"
