What does McCain and Palin bring to the table. Tax cuts for the top 1% and Big Oil.

Palin is a dangerous zealot who wants to bring religion into our public school system. She went to 6 collages before she graduated with a bachelors degree. Currently she is under investigation by the Alaska Legislature for firing the Director of public safety because he would not fire her ex-brother in law in a messy custody case.

Let me leave you with this: "Attention Sarah Palin-Jesus Christ was a Community Organizer; Pontius Pilate was a Governor.

Ask yourself what Obama and Biden are feeding us? Seemed fitting they be associated with Oscar Mayer. It is just a bunch of filler. McCain and Palin are all about making the right choices, however unpopular. It is about working together with all affiliations of our government to move forward, unlike the current administration. The only talking point the Democrats have (and it isn't even valid) is that McCain would bring more of the same. And that, my friend, is bologna. ;)

Wow, mindjack, that is pretty heady stuff there. Such sophisticated political analysis guiding your voting choices. What a great country, with people casting their vote based on goofy lunchmeat commercial rhymes!

"Total reform" of what? Eight years of Bush "legacy"? If that's what you seek, the more informed choice would clearly be Obama, not McSame. Do you even know what kind of reform you speak of, or what McSame is referring to? I don't think McSame even knows; it's just a catchphrase to offset the Palin fallout.

With people such as you choosing presidents on this goofy basis, our country is doomed again.

You had said among other things that concerns about dark alley abortions were irrelevant. And that we shouldn't outlaw drugs but allow people to go to clinics instead. Your analogy of drug prohibition and abortion rights is interesting. First off, dark alley abortions were real, not fantasy, my friend. Many women were killed or severly harmed by these untrained abortion "doctors" for lack of funds to go to an abortion-friendly state or country when I was younger. Think back to prohibition history and how outlawing the alcohol drug led to serious gang violence and people being poisoned by bootleg whiskey. Maybe you can see that relationship. And doesn't it seem familiar to what we see today with crack and other drugs.

But that isn't really on the table now. Abortion rights are on the table, and they are threatened by what Bush has done to the supreme court and what McSame would pile on top of that. Yet another reason to rejoice that Obama has a magnificent chance to give our country back to us, the common people, out of the jaws of oppression and wanton carelessness.

Next let me say that we had eight years of a prolife clown in the White House with failed policy all the way around.

Christians, like me look at the life of Jesus Christ. We see the son of God helping feed the poor,cure the sick, rez the dead. Jesus Christ hung out with the poor, he chased out he money changers from the temple. He took on the Pharisees. Jesus said render onto Caesar what is Caesars, and unto my father what is his. In short if Jesus was alive today he would be seen as a liberal.

I respect your beliefs on abortion, and guy rights. However, a women's right to choose is her right. She has to live with that decision for the rest of her life.

Let me again quote John F Kennedy:"...if by a liberal they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people - their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, their civil liberties..if that is what they mean by a "liberal" then I am proud to be a liberal."

I am a liberal and proud of it. I fear no terrorist threats that the Bush administration cooks up.

911 hapopened on that presidents watch after he had plenty of warning from a PDB-presidental daily briefing.

Last, America is a nation founded on Christian beliefs, yet we are a secular nation with a seperation of church and state.

Don't hide behind religion friend, don't spew out your homophobic hate on gays, blacks and the helpless.

Obama can take our country back to the high ground by simply being other than Republican, for one thing. Bush's policies, as a Republican, have brought mountains of dishonor to our country. Torturing prisoners for starts. We are down and dirty with the worst of terrorists when we engaged in waterboarding and other "interrogation tactics" that Bush's AG said were perfectly OK. Well, torture is not OK in any circumstance and we've been badly soiled by this behavior. The Geneva Convention was meant to protect our soldiers and now Bush has mocked and made a joke of it. I have no faith that McCain can un-do that damage as he is clearly perceived here and abroad as "McSame", as in more Bush.

Speaking of Bush's AG, firing federal prosecuters for their party affiliations. That is low ground behavior. McSame will bring more of such to us.

Ignoring global warming and its impact on the entire Earth for another. The moral high ground was lost when Bush took office and immediately refused to participate in Kyoto. Yes, the Chinese are the worst of the polluters but we needed to set an example by stepping up to the plate and addressing the issue, not ignoring it.

Abortion rights - those who call themselves pro life are ignoring the past. Can you feel more comfortable with a middle or low income woman going into the alley like was done in the 1960's to get a coat-hanger abortion? Unless we're talking about a rich women who could afford to fly to Europe for a safe abortion. Do you even remember those days?

Stem cell research - is destroying unused embryoes useful? Would it not be better, and the higher ground, to save lives with the knowledge gained from this path of research?

Same sex marriage, and all the associated fears promolgated by the faith-based neocons. Jesus said to love your brothers, not to persecute them. These so-called Christians who are frightened by such need to open their hearts and minds to love their neighbors. I'm not going to jump in bed with another male just because gay marriage becomes legal, are you? But I have no axe to grind with their lifestyle, either. Live and let live.

As for the "lies I have posted". Could you be more specific? Facts are facts. His voting record speaks for itself. He's pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage and pro gun-control.

Killing an unborn baby, homosexual marriages and the second amendment are substantial issues, so not sure what you're referring to. I'm not a fan of the people you mentioned. These are the issues important to me, and what I strongly believe. You can throw around your neat little liberal phrases all you want.

In favor of all types of abortions -- partial-birth, late-term, etc. Voted against the Infant Born-Alive Protection Act. 100% pro-abortion voting record.

Supports homosexual marriage rights 100%, despite the fact that the majority of Americans and Christians do not -- and he calls himself Christian, which is kind of funny.

Has a 100% anti-gun ownership voting record. Made several comments that show his distaste for gun owners.

Supports embryonic stem cell research.

Need more? The list goes on. He is anything but morally sound -- a typical liberal.

Hey, Mr. Obama, I've got some "change" in my pocket for ya'.

We are all blessed to have witnessed this milestone in America's history. The Democratic convention was positive and uplifting, a tangible product of our country's desire for change and progressive thinking. Obama delivered to all of us an opportunity to take back control of our country's future and I am grateful to him for that. The Republicans will now launch their customary attacks on a good and honorable man as they have done during every past election.

We're tired of such tactics. We're tired of living in fear and losing our freedoms. We're tired of seeing the economy spiral downward while meaningful tax breaks are given to only the wealthy. We're tired of blatant disregard for our environment. We're tired of our touchstone values being tossed on the junk pile such as has happened with Bush's policies of torture and intrusion.

In short, we are ready for change. For these reasons I strongly believe Obama can overcome the inevitable Republican dirty tricks that loom on the near horizon. God knows we need to bring America back to the moral and economic high road and Obama offers this to us.

I couldn't agree more with your skin color comment. Look at that disgraceful person who is our current governor...say bye-bye to jobs in PA. Lynn Swan would have been a much better governor.

I also agree with Dr. King when he said a person should be judged on their merits and not the color of their skin. Obama is not where he is because of his merits (because he has none).

Who is talking skin color? ddicorcia, you claim that Pittsburgh will choose based on skin color, and you were the one to first bring it up. It sounds to me like you are choosing based on race -- which is a big mistake.

The Republicans are called racist if they support McCain because he's white -- but the Democrats are absolutely fine with the 90% of blacks voting for Obama because of race. Pretty ridiculous.

And about the speech. Hey, he's a good speaker and has can get a crowd moving. Only trouble is his words and beliefs sound more like Karl Marx or Mussolini. Hi diatribe of "we're going to change the world" is so over the top, and his goals of a global economy and society are just scary.

The rest of his words are empty and mean nothing to me. Tell me, what are we "changing" again? Are we changing the proven system of Capitalism and democracy? Are we changing the constitution and amendments that this country was founded on? Are we changing the rights and freedoms that we all enjoy. Mr. Obama has such a sordid view of this country that it's downright frightening.

Obama is all fluff, promises, and rhetoric and offers no solutions to our nation's problems. Just as devious is the Democratic majority Congress who went on vacation rather than vote on off-shore drilling so that Obama would not have to take a stand on that issue until after the election in November. I want a president who offers solutions to our problems that we are facing now, not in 10 years. Honestly, do we think that President Bush single-handedly caused this economic crisis? Everything we do, all laws, every war budget has to go through Congress. Additionally, in order for the economy to take a tumble, it takes about 10 - 15 years. Who was in office before President Bush? Who left our nation unguarded and allowed those terrorists to bomb the World Trade Center in 1993? Again, who ignored the information coming in about the terrorists a year before President Bush took office and allowed September 11th to occur? The Clinton Administration. Who did not permit us to drill in ANWAR in the 1990's? Clinton was too busy cheating on his wife and his wife was too busy traveling the world turning the other cheek. We often hear comparisons of Obama with Martin Luther King, Jr. and Abraham Lincoln. Why? Very convenient and not even close comparisons if you know your American history. Martin Luther King, Jr. dreamed of racial equality and Abraham Lincoln was not the great emancipator as most people believe. That is the greatest myth of the Civil War. He used black slaves against the South and never freed any under the Emancipation Proclamation. At his great celebration of the Proclamation at the White House, Lincoln even went so far as barring black Americans from the White House. The atrocities that Lincoln committed on the American people during the Civil War are many. Some historians say that Lincoln was one of the worst presidents in American history. Sometimes, the bigger the monuments, the bigger the myth. So, by comparing himself to Lincoln, what is Obama trying to say? Knowing my history, I interpret it as that he will do anything that he has to against the American people to get what HE wants done, even going so far as causing Civil War. Two days after his first inauguration, Lincoln passed the Morrill Tariff raising the tariff rate to 36% on dutiable items and virtually stopping trade with Great Britain. What will Obama do? What's his hidden agenda? As Americans, we forget Obama is of mixed racial background. One minute he plays to white Americans to get their vote and the next minute he is off playing to African Americans to get their vote. Folks, he is the convenient presidential candidate. McCain is a veteran, has served our country in both government and in the military. With him, at least, we know what he has our country's best interests at heart.
