First!

 Pittsburgh - Ward 17, District 7.  I arrived at 6:30AM anticipating a line.  I was it for nearly the full half hour prior to voting.  No issues; ballot smoothly cast.

 When we got to our polling place in Mt. Lebanon at 6:50 am, it was difficult to get a parking place. The lines were long, but after 7 am, they moved quickly. There were young volunteer workers who explained how to use the voting machines to each voter. The system was pretty much self explanatory. We were finished with the whole process before 7:15 a.m. I liked it; it is exciting to be part of such a historical election. It was the first time I've ever got up early to go to the polls early to cast a vote.

 Voted in the City of Pittsburgh - no line second person there @ 6:45 am. The people working the polls seemed confused. My first time voting. they told me to go in one line, the oops! No go in that line! Then nope! Go back in the other line. Umm ok! So now I've been dropped to about 7th in line. Thanks. So I go to the table and they find my card, and nobody wants to say what to do! This is my first time where do I go, hellllooo! someone tell me what to sign and where to sign and where to go! If you want to help work the polls please learn to actually answer people and talk to them about what to do and where to go!! After I finally got registered and was in line to vote - took about 15 minutes. Not too bad!

 I went to vote and I had to wait an unusually long time before I even got a chance to cast my ballot.  I've never seen so many people lined up to vote and the main reason is that there were so many more blacks voting that I've ever seen in all the elections I've voted in combined.

It's nice to finally see the black community voting en masse but this brought a question to my mind: Where were all the blacks during previous elections when it was only whites running?

Every single black in line was proudly stating they were voting for Obama.  Of course, Tony Norman will beg to differ but this illustrates the true face of racism in America because the black community only came out to vote when it was a black man running but stayed away in droves when it was only whites.

I'm quite sure it will be only a matter of minutes before someone posts something calling me a racist despite the fact that what I stated is reality!!!!

 I voted today, and there were the usual racist redneck voters in line that John Murtha always refers to when speaking about the people of western PA.  Many of the people in line were talking about how happy they were going to be when Osama gets elected because they won't have to pay for gasoline, their mortgages, or healthcare anymore.  Osama will support them and they will support Osama.  The government will take care of them and get them jobs.  I hope they are not dissappointed.............

I have just moved to Bloomfield and being a new resident, I was unsure of how to get into my polling place at West Penn Hospital.

There were no signs on the exterior of the building that indicated a polling place until you got right outside the voting area.

Ask for help if you are lost!

 I am usually one of the first five to vote in Dorseyville; however today at 6:45 there was a line of approximately 25 people waiting to vote in front of me.  By the time the poll opened there were another 10 people in line.  It appears there will be a large turnout for this election.

The machine worked perfectly and I saw no problems at the poll.

 I got to the polls a little after seven, and there was a bit of a line.  The ladies at Springdale Manor held a bake sale in the lobby, the poll workers were extremely helpful and patient.  It felt GREAT to exercise my right!!! The atmosphere was truly positive.  No snide remarks, no cynicism, NO FEAR - I heard people speaking of gratitude that we had the opportunity to vote.  Our country and it's people are truly great, so let's CHOOSE TO BE POSITIVE and stand together, no matter the results! 

 In West Mifflin there wasn't a line going into the school( about 7:15.A.M.,about 40 people were chatting near the entrance of school.,just before going to vote. It took me about 20 minutes( in and out) I've seen tons of Obama people outside with literature and buttons and signs. hardly any for McCain.Just 2 that I saw.

Nice to see the folks with I.Qs less than 80 are out to vote today.  Keep on keepin on!

At my poll none of the 4 machines were working.  They were making a buzzing noise for the first 1:15 minutes into voting.

The people who showed up were very disgruntled and everyone was given a paper ballot.  A lot of people were sitting at tables I set up and many chose to sit on the floor to fill out their ballot.  The machines are now up and running and we are well over 100 voters so far.  We are getting about 50 people per hour.

The new voters are coming out in droves.  All of the new voters so far have been African-Americans and they are all going for Obama.

I voted at St. Marks in Brookline.  I arrived about 8:10am.  Absolutely no lines.  I was in and out in about 5 minutes.  I wish I would've paid attention to everyone's skin color more.  Unfortunately I have nothing to report on that.

 Fawn township busy voting, usually about 18 voters by 9:00 AM.  This election I was high 60's but line moved quickly.  Interesting to hear one women question how her son could be registered here, and also in another state where he is living.  And another couple commenting they had moved almost a year ago to another area, but came back to vote, and were told by voting person that they would have to register in their new area for next election, but still permitted to vote in this area.  No wonder there are concerns about voter fraud.
