I think it was pretty even. Palin held her own and I think she redeemed herself showing that she's a solid VP candidate. Overall, I thought it was rather boring and I don't think it changed a whole lot. Maybe Palin reassured some that she's a solid pick who's previous interview performances were simply due to the fact that she hasn't been campaigning for 2 years like all the others.

Joe Biden seemed like a guy from Western Pennsylvania--a guy I could trust to be straight with me and lead this country, god forbid something happened to the President.

Sarah Palin just kept reminding me of one of those annoying PTA moms who keep trying to show the outside world they have it all together.

I think Gov Palin kicked ass.  She's a no-nonsense woman who doesn't take crap from ANYBODY.  Go Sarah!

Gov. Palin showed she has ice in her veins when she ignored acknowledging Sen.Biden's heartfelt response to understanding what goes on "around the kitchen table."  Giving her the benefit of the doubt, perhaps her coldness was only due to her not wanting to forget her next memorized  line,  but I felt it showed a side of her that was colder than the tundra.

Sarah Palin did not debate Joe Biden last night. She stated her rehearsed talking points over and over again, often avoiding the question altogether. One gets the feeling that she practiced in front or a mirror. Her "folksiness" is condescending in the extreme. Does she think that all hockey and soccer moms are that dumb?

Joe Biden was masterful. His litany of why McCain is not a maverick when it comes to middle class issues was powerful and right on point.

Do I prefer Joe Biden as the Vice-President, a heartbeat away from the presidency?

Let me borrow from Sarah:  You betcha.

I see that kaywhy55 has the same command of the English language as Sarah Palin. Some call it "folksy." Some might say that she doesn't know how to express herself intelligently.

I think that Gov Palin showed she has what it takes to be the VP. She is a regular person and that is what we need in Washington.

I thought that Gov. Palin was auditioning for a beauty contest. She did not give any answers in depth. She evaded most questions with stump speech retoric even to the point that she told the moderator she would not answer her questions.

Pretty much went as expected.... Biden came out and talked coherently about issues, Palin came out swinging for the sound-byte pinata and directed every response she couldn't field back to the handful of things she had memorized. I suppose Palin can claim something of a win (though a "non-loss" is probably more accurate) by virtue of pushing the Katie Couric interview and McCain's "Grumpy Old Men" routine off the front of people's minds (for now...) but certainly anyone looking to see her commander-in-chief credentials on display didn't get what they were looking for. I suppose it'll re-fire the Republican base and cause the ticket's negative numbers to drop a little, though it'd be a stretch to see large numbers of independents/undecideds decide THIS is what makes them want to vote McCain/Palin.

I think Christina brings out what so many elitist feminists and media have done with Sarah Palin over the past month, that  is to speak condescendingly about her, making her out to be a bimbo. Certainly she does not have the speaking skills nor experience of Joe Biden, and that is exactly what many non elitists like about her, that she is folksy and more down to earth. For the elitists and network television anchors that seems to translate into meaning she lacks intelligence and the ability to make executive decisions. Rather than say they disagree with her positions they just talk down to Sarah and the people who run to their  religion when times are bad, and the gun clingers from the small towns across America that Senator Obama referred to earlier this year. Although I'm a democrat, I'm disheartened by the viciousness that so many democrats have demonstrated during this campaign. It seems to have become a question of doing whatever it takes to win, the same tactics that Karl Rove was so good at during the last two presidential campaigns. Even Senator Obama himself has decried the self serving personal attacks on Sarah Palin. Hopefully the winner of this election can restore some of the warmth and goodness of the American people.

Why are people so taken with that "folksy" quality of Mrs. Palin?  We've had 8 years of "aw shucks" and silly smirks!!!  I can't wait to have a president who can speak the English language!  And Mr. Biden's statement that Dick Chaney has been the most dangerous VP in history was absolutely perfect.

Although we don't vote for VP, I would be very comfortable with Mr. Biden as the President.

Look. It is very simple. It seems that anyone responding to this question could be just as competent or incompetent as Ms. Palin when it comes to governing. I want someone to lead who is smarter and more motivated than the average "joe." The answer is Obama/Biden are smarter and think more thoughtfully about issues than McCain/Palin. Don't be afraid of electing someone/s more intelligent than you. Look what the last eight years have brought this country.

Sarah Palin did great.  Joe Biden just proved he's another Washington insider.  He completely lied about his comments regarding coal.  He says just what he thinks his current audience wants to hear.  Sarah on the other hand is down to earth, a refreshing change from the washington elite.

McCain has a real energy plan and healthcare plan, a real plan for America.  Energy = jobs, which helps our economy.  Obama wants more government so he can be king/emperor of the United States.  No thanks.

Sarah Palin did not embarrass herself like she has for the last two weeks.  As a woman, that was a relief.

However, shouldn't we have a higher standard for our VP? Joe Biden participated in a VP debate, Sarah Palin particpated in a media event.
