    Why?

Why can't people stick to a thread?  I put a note on about Reagan commenting on reading a 1400 word bill before signing it (like what wasn't done recently for the stimulus bill) This was only a comparison between Alabama, I mean Obama and Reagan.

People's replies, however, were that Reagan was an actor, or Nancy led him around, etc.  Those replies didn't even come close to the original thread.  If you can't reply to a thread, then start a new one.

This happens a lot.  It is evidence that you have no knowledge of the subject of the thread.  Why not just ignore the thread, then?

    Makes too much sense, huh?

And, that single statement from Reagan means what ?  If you refer to the 5 health care bills floating around right now, nobody has read them all.

And, once again why is Reagan being held up as a paragon of something ?

You forget the selling of arms to Iran while he was President ?

Then using the proceeds to fund death squads in Nicaragua ?

Did you forget that 32 Reagan administration officials were convicted in relation to Iran/Contra, the HUD Scandal and S & L Crisis among others ?

Did you forget that Reagan nearly tripled the national debt ?

Did you forget that Reagan doubled the social security withholding ?

Did you forget that he raised taxes 7 times ?

Good Example. of what I'm saying about sticking to a thread.  Where in my thread does it say anything about Reagan and National Debt, Social Security, Taxes, etc.?  Iran/Contra?

It's amazing how stupid some people can be even when you explain things and spell them out.

There ought to be a law about senile people having access to computers, cars, etc.  Eventually they'll hurt themselves!

Sounds like you ought to take your own advice.

My post bascially says why should we care about one supposed statement that Reagan made ?

He said one thing and did another.

Republicans today still perpetuate lies and nonsense stated by Reagan.

Kinda like his statement about the scariest words in the english language are I'm from the gov't and I'm here to help.  Pretty much sums up republicans as they try to prove how inept gov't is by hiring political loyalists rather than qualified people.

    See Fema, DoJ for starters
