Is the consolidation of four Penn Hills grade schools into an elementary center a good idea?

The Penn Hills school board has approved a $130 million bond issue to fund construction of a new high school and elementary center, which would close the close the district's four grade schools. The annual savings from the consolidation and eliminating the aging high school building will cover the debt.      I do not think it is a good idea.  Firstly, I am one of the small minority of people in this country that does not believe in getting into debt.  Adding 130 million to the 90 million that Penn Hills already owes is fiscally irresponsible.  As revenues decline in the future due to a declining population the debt payments will gobble up all the revenue and necessary expenditures will need to be curtailed.

Secondly, I think that small neighborhood schools will provide a better educational experience for the students.  A large building with thousands of students will be bad in terms of dicipline, achievement and will be a traffic nightmare.

I think this is a very "BAD" idea. The township is charging the people of Penn Hills $30.00 every three months for a service fee, now.  Why don't you people that is in office, (at least for now,  till you get "VOTED OUT")  pay off this bond, And skip merging 4 schools, why not say two, and skip tearing down a perfectly good school, Maybe, you could save some money.  You people that are in office, you are spending money like it is water.  Just like people that has more "MONEY THAN BRAINS"   It must be nice to squander other peoples money.  The people that don't want anything to do with taking out this bond, "WILL GET STUCK PAYING IT BACK!!!   Why don't you loony tunes start thinking of the other people, such as SENIOR Citizens, that are on fixed incomes, or the unemployed, or the people that have lost their jobs and have fallen on "HARD TIMES"  You people don't think of that, and what about the people that are losing their homes, with the price of the school taxes and the over charging of the sewerage, Where are the people suppose to get the money to even live in this township.  Maybe you think that people have "MONEY TREES" growing in their back yards.  Why don't you people come back down to earth, and see what is going on around you. I think that you people are living in a twilight Zone, This area is right up the alley for a Rod Sterling  story.
