It reminded me of my Grandpa telling me a story.

I think very highly of John McCain and think he is a good man, but he looks as if the past year and a half of campaining is taking its toll on him.  He looks like he is aging fast. Palin may truly be a heartbeat away from the White House.

I didn't listen to a word, I've been listening to the Republicans for 8 years now and don't believe a word they say.  I supported McCain 8 years ago but now that he has morphed into W's twin brother I can't support him.  All politicians will tell you anything to get elected.  Change is in the wind John.....but I think it's gonna have a different driver.

McCain is the man ! This is coming from the former Democrat.

To tell you the truth Obama is the one who sounding all the same. All the same socialist ideas that are all old and being used by every democrat for the past 20 years. Nothing new, nothing original. I am tired of more of the same from the Democratic party.

McCain's speech was more like a state of the union address. You could see the man who is ready to lead and knows how to do it, and is ready to be the president of the USA.

    Country First !

I wasn't a McCain fan and was planning sit this election out or possibly vote third party, until last night.  McCain hit the nail on the head and said what I've been thinking from the beginning about my fundamental distrust of Barack Obama: talking about change is one thing, instituting it is another.  No matter how many times Obama says change in a speech, higher taxes, more government regulation and bureaucracy, more dictates handed down from officials that impact our personal lives... that's not change it's more of the same stuff the left has been peddling since the seventies.

I lived through the seventies, the gas rationing, double digit inflation, high unemployment and stagflation and I don't want to go backwards with Barack Obama.  I'm voting for McCain now, but I fear the hateful, partisan, obstructionists led by Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi in Congress who've fiddled and done nothing the past two years while our economy stumbles and energy prices soar will put their own selfish goals ahead of the country's good and block McCain everywhere they can.

Yes, this mess the country is in is not the fault of the party that has been in power for 12 of the past 14 years, its Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi the past 2.

And now the guy who has been in line with W 90% of the time is gonna shake it up.  Sure.

Funny how the party that is running Washington is claiming its gonna change Washington.

In 2006 Democrats ran for Congress claiming the country was in imminent danger of slipping into recession, oil and gas prices were too high and there weren't enough jobs being created.  Since taking office what have they done or what have they proposed doing to address to address problems they identified that have gotten significantly worse since then?  Nothing, nothing at all.  Where are they today while many Republicans are waiting back in Washington to act on energy legislation and as news of a significant increase in unemployment is realeased?  On vacation.

Neither this President nor any other has direct control over the economy and no one part of government deserves full credit or blame for ups and downs in the economy.  However this current Congress deserves to be held accountable by voters for continuing to sit on their hands and do nothing so they can gain political advantage in the November elections.  Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi, along with my "representative" Jason Altmire, have made a premeditated choice to put their careers and political aspirations ahead of the good of the county and they should be punished for it.

If we are not going to work together - nothing will get accomplished. No matter who is in the white house. McCain is the only one who is talking about it and that is the real "Change".

    "Keep telling yourself that"

Yeah and it was you and the Democrats who were telling us the same thing over the past few decades when McCain was siding with you against Republicans and conservatives on a number of issues.

Now that he stands between your party and control of the White House suddenly all that goes out the window and were supposed to believe you now when you say his the villain?  Sorry I don't take the word of back stabbing hypocrites.  Hopefully John McCain wins AND learns a valuable lesson about not being able to hug and make nice with pit vipers like Pelosi and Reid at the same time.

As an Obama supporter, I was ready to hate McCain's speech last night.  But I thought he gave a very good, simple, yet seemingly sincere speech. I don't know how he can get away with throwing rocks at the establishment that he has so strongly supported over the last 8 years, but I wouldn't be surprised if he won over many undecided voters last night.

I wouldn't be suprise if he died before the election. I give him 50/50 chance at best.  He looked 82, not 72.  And I am not trying to insult the man.  Its a fact.

And if its Pelosi and Reid that are the root of all evil, how is McCain going to change that?  W couldnt?

Its always the Dems faults.  Its the Dems faults we have a deficit that did not exist 8 years ago.  Its the Dems fault that all of the National debt is owned by foreigners and there for paying it back does nothing to stimulate our economy.  Its the Dems fault 9000 soldiers are dead and we are spending a billion dollars a week in Iraq while that country is experiencing a surplus.  Am I to believe this mess occured in the past 2 years? Wrong.  Since 2000 the job wage has remained mostly stagnant wile the CPI has increased roughly 44%.  Its the Dems fault gas is over $3 a gallon because the oil is right here.  So what if oil is traded on the world market and as such that is where the price is set.  Its the Dems fault another 33,000 jobs were lost last month because there was no unemployment until Pelosi became Speaker.  Its the Dems fault my teenage daughter didn't use contraception.  Its the Dems fault my Pastor is a homosexual.  its all the Dems fault.

It's getting old.......once again the the republicans are running on the platform of fear!!!!!  americans need to wake up.  more people will die in this country from lack of healthcare, than from a terrorist bomb landing in their backyard.  do they have anything else to say to the american people  but.... be afraid??????

sarah palin may be a working mother but she will set women back 50 years.
