Here's a list of plants featured on Pittsburgh Today Live on 7/02/09.
These are my favorite perennial flowers-
Corydilas lutea is my all time favorite with gray green folliage and yellow flowers. This plant blooms from April to October, is drought and deer resistant and spreads through its seeds. Every garden should have this plant.
Hosta 'Fragrant Bouqet' has pretty foliage, but also has fragrang flowers.
Heuchera 'Alabama Sunrise' has brilliant foliage all year long.
Verbascum 'Jackie' is a sun lover, long bloomer that's indestuctable.
Bleeding heart 'King of Hearts' is a short plant with pretty pink flowers for the shade.
Clematis 'Multi Blue' is an incredible double clematis. Not only are the blooms pretty, the seeds heads that follow put on quite a show.
Ligularia 'Britt Marie Crawford' is a shade lover and my favorite ligularia. Deep purle foliage with bright yellow flowers.
Try and plant all these plants in groups of three or five or even seven, they make a bold impact that way.
These plants are all available at Hahn Nursery in Ross 412-635-7475.
