    Fire blight on pear trees

Help!  My pear tree has fire blight.  I tried pruning out infected branches in the spring but now it's worse than it was before.  I think it might die!  What do you recommend?

If it dies and I need to replace it, do yo recommend any varieties of pears that are more resistent?  This is a pear-producing tree, I don't want an ornamental pear.  Please help!

Don't panic! The first thing to do is to again remove any affected branches.

Here's the basic culture and control of fire blight. You can beat it, it it's not too far advanced.

If you loose it, here's a couple varieties that are disease resistant-

Keifer Magness, Seckel and Warren are all blight resistant.
