BP did make the plays, but they were constantly holding, and I didn't understand that defensive holding call on the last drive. WH overcame so much to win the game. That's the sign of a good team.

Agree the call on WH for 'excessive celebration' was bogus ... the refs - and the call were excessive ! ....

But although I thought some of the late game calls might be suspect and the refs may have been looking for infractions, BP made the plays to march down the field and tie the game - this was not the result of 'calls'. One (earlier) penalty - pass interference on a WH DB - was blantant: DB appeared to face shield the WR with his back to the ball - and then ran into him. ( The DB allowed the WR to get behind him - G Novak should have assessed an internal penalty ! LOL )

Yes, you're right gawh, they were, at least in the WH game. I didn't see the Gateway-NH game cause I was at the WH game, so I can't say anything about that game. What'd the refs do in the Gateway game?

Both games in AAAA were pretty good. WH-BP was what football is all about. The only concerning thing is that in both games the officials were too much a part of the outcome of the game. The excessive celebration call was suspect. For most of these kids this is the biggest game they have played in so far and then official make a potential game changing call. Good officiating is not noticable.

Should be a great game next week.

But wouldn't an excessive celebration penalty be assessed on Woody High's possession? Not on Bethel Park's possession? And they didn't even move the ball, anyway. They shouldn't have given Bethel another chance anyway, that was total crap. Some WH guys were jumping up and down because they were excited. That's a natural reaction. Those refs were terrible the entire night and were most definitely tried to keep Bethel Park in the game. The players can't do anything to control that, and they made a good attempt to come back, but the refs gave them so many gifts and chances to stay alive. It was sickening.

BP - WH - I believe BP was able to attempt field goal the 2nd time in OT because of an 'excessive celebration' penalty against WH (after the first attempt ).

Watched the BP - WH game on TV. Great game.

Great performace by BP QB Bliss. Bliss was especially impressive during the last BP drive for a TD - often rolling to his left - and running for his life - keeping the drive alive with clutch completions.

PT was 3-7 in a weak division too. But look at North Hills 4-5 in the reg. season and one game away from Heinz. It should be interesting who they hire to replace TJ. Gateway Offensive Coordinator was high on the list last year.
