Shell won't play in first-round playoff game

 By Mike White | Wednesday, Nov. 4, 9:20 p.m.

Hopewell star running back Rushel Shell will not play in Friday night's playoff game against Derry because he broke a school rule. Shell confirmed tonight that he won't play.

Shell finished the regular season as the WPIAL's leading rusher and has more than 3,500 yards for his career. Although his absence will definitely hurt Hopewell, look for the Vikings to still roll. Derry isn't exactly a strong tream, finishing fourth in the Keystone Conference. Remember, the Keystone Conference is 0-32 in the playoffs the past eight years.

Mr. Mike White,  you should get your facts right before writing the varsity blog.  Derry is not forth in the keystone conference,  they finished third, with uniontown and greensburg salem ahead and laurel highlands in fourth.  The vikings may still "roll" as you put it, but derry isn't comming in there and just laying down.  These pittsburgh papers (beaver times, post gazett) are looking way to far ahead like hienze field when you should be taking it one game at a time.  derry's defence is pretty solid, and you just might be suprised.

Have fun watching derry defend Mark Ross at WR he should probably have about 150 plus yds recieving tonite. The kid doesnt drop passes. Then as soon as u drop n man coverage while doubling up ross here comes hudenski up the sideline. Derry doenst have a chance. Hopewell 21 Derry 0
