VARSITY VIDEO PRESEASON EDITION

By Colin Dunlap ][ 7:44 p.m. Wednesday

Mike White and myself shot the preseason edition of VARSITY VIDEO: This Week in High School Sports today, our weekly series that takes a look inside WPIAL and City League football and basketball.

This week, we preview the football season, give you who we think are our top teams in each classification and also provide a sleeper that has a chance to make a run to Heinz Field.

Welcome back guys!

I personally enjoy the show, (even when you guys don't pick Jeannette) I know, it's hard to believe, being from J-Town and all, but it's true!

Here's to a great season 2

Much appreciated.

How has Jeannette's two scrimmages gone? What is the QB situation looking like?

I heard the QB from last year graduated. I forget his name.

I seen that QB at the car wash this weekend, he reassured me that we will see him play against Youngstown!! GUARANTEED he said!!

Cam's the man, he looks good, had a few 1st game jitters. I'm hoping people don't expect him to be another Terrelle. Cameron's unique in his own special way and he's got a lot to bring to the table of his own.  I'm also very impressed with Tom Paulone, back-up QB, he set up a nice screen pass for a 40 yard gain against WM, and tossed out a 50 yard pass for a TD against Seton LaSalle. Very impressive so far, He's gotten bigger, faster, worked out very hard over the off season, big improvement from last year!

And then we got a freshman coming into the big picture, now this kid could be very similar to Terrelle, Demetrius Cox, time will tell I guess

as far as scoring the scrimmages, 12-12 against Seton LaSalle, who looked very good by the way,  and 12-6 against West Mifflin

We're ready here in J-Town, we just need Friday to get here!!

Is Tom Paulone related to the Tom Paulone who setup the bus trips to the Steelers games?

I met a Tom Paulone at a bar the night before the Jayhawks played against Wilson in the PIAA title game...let us just say I stayed at the bar about 7 hours longer than I had planned.
