Last week it was Andy Rooney, this week I've found a fake UPN account on Twitter.
It promotes all sorts of awful-sounding shows ("Moesha 2010," anyone?), just the type UPN would have put on had the network not folded. Among the tweets:
-- TUESDAYS ON UPN RULE! TONIGHT ON UPN: 8/7c "Master
Debater" NEW DRAMA! 9/8c "Star Trek: Tribbles" BIG CLIFFHANGER!
-- Tonight, it's the very special episode of
"Girlfriends" you've been waiting for. Earthquake strikes - who lives? Who dies?
9/8c on UPN!
-- PRESS RELEASE: UPN PICKS UP NEW SERIES FROM REALITY
KING MARK BURNETT: "You Gonna Eat That?" Forces Players To Chow Down on Strange

Too late now: I already filed Friday's annual turkeys column that pokes fun at local news excesses and I'm sad that I wasn't able to add a KDKA report that aired last night about, I kid you not, BIGFOOT!
You know it's sweeps when ... KDKA reports on Bigfoot.
KDKA's David Highfield did the best he could with the subject matter, allowing a fair degree of skepticism in the tone of his report and avoiding all scare tactics. Banter with the anchors after the report was also light-hearted with Highfield telling Stacy Smith and Patrice King Brown he knew they'd want to mark their calendars for a 2011 Bigfoot convention, and then clarifying that Bigfoot will not appear at the convention as Smith teased him about "the get" if he landed an interview with Bigfoot.
