FX picks up 'Fire in the Hole,' gives it new title

Timothy Olyphant stars in "Lawman." (FX)PASADENA, Calif. -- FX has ordered a 13-episode first season of "Lawman," which filmed its pilot mostly in Western Pennsylvania last month.

The series stars Timothy Olyphant (left) as Raylan Givens, a character featured in several Elmore Leonard stories, including the short story "Fire in the Hole," which was the working title of the pilot that filmed locally with the environs around Pittsburgh standing in for rural Kentucky.

The series, to premiere in spring 2010, will be produced in Southern California but it's possible that cast and crew may return to the area to film some scenes. Or maybe not. It appears the production gets California tax incentives for filming in California. Don't know if that allows them to make trips elsewhere to film scenes.
