Although I'm still not a fan of NBC giving five hours of prime-time to Jay Leno, I'm slightly less appalled now that I see NBC plans a lot of time slot sharing among its series. The network may not produce as many scripted shows, but it won't be as few as I feared.

Today production begins locally on the FX pilot based on the Elmore Leonard short story "Fire in the Hole." Timothy Olyphant ("Damages," "Deadwood") stars in the prospective series as a Kentucky sheriff.

A kid in California who appears to be a wee bit obsessed with "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood" is causing a stir at PBS, which has complained to the Califoria Attorney General about an upcoming event that falsely associates itself with the PBS show. We've known about this kid for a couple of years but didn't think he'd ever attempt a fundraiser in Rogers' name. Yikes.
