You have to figure CBS has no faith in "Game Show in My Head" (8 p.m. Saturday, KDKA), otherwise network executives wouldn't be throwing it away on Saturday night, which has become a night of reruns for the broadcast networks.
Not only are they tossing it on the Saturday night trash heap, they're airing back-to-back episodes (8 and 8:30 p.m.), apparently trying to burn off the episodes as quickly as possible.
Joe Rogan, looking more puffy-faced than in his "Fear Factor" days, acts as host. He stands in a studio, barking commands at contestants who are out in public, hearing him through an ear piece. Rogan commands them to do all sorts of humiliating tasks involving people who have no idea they're on TV. It's part "Candid Camera" and part comedy of the uncomfortable.
In the first episode, a young woman is tasked with getting four pictures taken with an unsuspecting family, including a kiss with the husband. Later she has to convince passersby to put ranch dressing on their faces as part of a new beauty regimen. Finally, she has to convince a random dude to marry her and say "I do."
After about seven minutes, "Game Show in My Head" gets old fast. CBS's decision to air back-to-back weekly episode seems like nothing more than an invitation to channel surf away to another network.
