Griffin says assistant didn't quit

Kathy Griffin and Steve Wozniak attend the Producers Guild Awards in February. (Danny Moloshok, Bravo)Kathy Griffin, star of Bravo's "My Life on the D-List" (10 tonight) usually works hard to get press attention, but recent reports that her assistant Jessica Zajicek quit because she "couldn't take" working with Griffin anymore are untrue, Griffin said in a phone interview yesterday.

"She did leave on vacation," Griffin said. "There's somewhere she's been wanting to go forever. [Those reports] were very hurtful to her."

Jessica will be back if the show returns for another season, Griffin said, and she does expect the series to be renewed. ("I'm producing it in my head already," she said. "I know what the 10 episodes will be. It just depends on who's going to play along.")

Tonight's episode focuses on Griffin's relationship with computer mogul Steve Wozniak, which has been part of a season-long arc even though he's currently dating someone else. Griffin said the episode will include an epilogue -- a "Life on the D-List" first -- that addresses what happened with their relationship. And she said there's an epilogue to that epilogue.

"I got an e-mail from Woz yesterday and when I go to play in his town, Saratoga Mountain Winery in Saratoga, Calif., he and his girlfriend and family will come see me," she said. 'It's like the Bruce-Demi-Ashton thing. I'm friendly enough with his girlfriend that I'm happy to give her and her family tickets even if Woz doesn't come. It's very modern. I've become very forward thinking."
