Chad Hermann is a writer, editor, blogger, husband, father, and freelance communication consultant living in Squirrel Hill.
Before moving into political and communication consulting, Chad spent fourteen years teaching in higher education, the last ten of those as an award-winning Lecturer of Management Communication at Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business. In 2006,
BusinessWeek magazine named him one of the country’s top 25 undergraduate business professors. That would prove to be the high point, and the death knell, of his career in academia.
Chad has co-edited nine books (including the Edgar-Award-nominated Gun Monkeys), contributed poems, posts, and essays to a host of publications (including New York Newsday, The Huffington Post, and the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette), and co-authored a book of fake news items (Zombies Ate My Headlines) with his colleagues at Carbolic Smoke Ball, a satirical web site for which he serves as writer and Editorial Director.
His last blog, the critically acclaimed, occasionally reviled Teacher. Wordsmith. Madman., ran from 2004-2008. Why he shut it down is explained here. Why he came back and began The Radical Middle remains to be read...
