The return of the Tent!

 Elvis Costello.

The Kinks.

Moby.

Green Day.

The Pixies.

Foo Fighters.

Warped.

Those are just a few shows that pop to mind when I think about the tent at Station Square, which came down three years ago, presumably to make way for a casino that would never go there.

For the past two summers we've gotten our share of the big amphitheater shows at the Post-Gazette Pavilion, but we've really been missing those mid-level tours, like the artists listed above. Some of them moved indoors to the Palumbo and the Peterson, but it's not the same.

It's great news to hear the tent will return this summer, bringing more shows back into the city. It's a gritty, scenic little spot - more so, actually, when it was just a stage, not a tent - and I look forward to more artists having fun playing off all those trains going by.
