Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy site honored

Pgh Parks Conservancy siteThe Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy Web site -- www.pittsburghparks.org -- has been honored for Outstanding Achievement by the Interactive Media Awards (www.interactivemediaawards.com). The awards were created by the nonprofit organization of web designers, developers, programmers, advertisers and other Web-related professionals.

The Parks Conservancy's recently updated Web site was designed by the local firm Mind Over Media, programmed by Savvior Techology Solutions and launched in February. The conservancy says this is the second highest honor bestowed by IMA, which noted that the Web site "has excelled in all areas of our judging criteria and represents a very high standard of planning, execution and overall professionalism."

The site includes tabbed sections on each of the city's four parks -- Schenley, Frick, Highland and Riverview -- with details on each park's activities, history, restoration efforts and special features. Interactive maps will be added to the site later this year.
