Wolverine in Pittsburgh? Be still my heart.
In an announcement made today on YouTube, Hugh Jackman said he'd bring the premiere -- and red-carpet arrivals -- of his new film, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine,"
to the town where the most "X's" mark the spot.
To put in a bid to host the premiere, fans need only go to the site x-menorigins.com/premiere and
mark their town with a digital "X." Just think! We could be the first to "witness the
origins" right here, with the cast, on Monday, April
27.
The winning town will be announced on April
20.
Jackman made the announcement today via a taped
message, uploaded to YouTube, in which the actor credits the film series'
success to the global community of X-Men movie fans, 20th Century Fox said in a statement. To express his
appreciation, Jackman is hosting this special event in which he will bring the
movie and a few of his "friends and enemies" from the film to the winning town. "In addition to the stars and filmmakers, the event will have all the other
trappings of a mega-Hollywood premiere, including the red carpet, klieg lights,
and media coverage," the statement said.
"X-Men Origins: Wolverine" opens the summer blockbuster season May
