The endless fascination with all things Andy Warhol continues to inspire and haunt filmmakers.
Most recently, "Factory Girl" in 2006 -- starring "Mysteries of Pittsburgh's" Sienna Miller, with Guy Pearce as Warhol -- told the story of a player in Warhol's life. And last year, the documentary "Walk to the Sea: Danny Williams and the Warhol Factory," played Pittsburgh Filmmakers' Melwood Screening Room.
Now Gus Van Sant is making noises about resurrecting a Warhol project that was scrapped in 1993 when it's star, River Phoenix, died of an overdose.
Van Sant wanted Phoenix to play the pop art pioneer at a young age, he tells Interview magazine. "I was all set to do the Warhol movie at one time - I even had a financing party.
"River kind of looked like Andy in his younger days. But that project never really went forward. Maybe I'll go back to it one day."
