Source: One of Yankees' pitchers was hurt

By Dejan Kovacevic |  3:33 p.m. Saturday

One of the two pitchers the Pirates did not end up with in the six player trade, George Kontos or Phil Coke, was rejected by the Pirates because of damage to the labrum, according to a source with direct knowledge of the transaction. The source would not divulge which pitcher.

That explains it.  It has to be Kontos.  He was the most interesting prospect of the bunch.  At 23 he seemed to have the most upside.  I like the addition of McCutchen but would much rather have Kontos than Karstens.

Dejan.  Is Pearce going to be given the everyday right field job?  Seems that he has two full months to prove he belongs.  If so, it certainly makes it easier to trade Bay in the offseason.
