This is all about principle When Altmire caves to his health insurance buddies, while the majority of PA voters are FOR HCR, when we, as western pennsylvanians, either voted for him, or worked for him, or supported him, and he chooses to support Boehner over the president, YEA, this is all about principle.

I've written the congressman, politlely asking him to support HCR, and his party, and his president. And I suggest you all do the same.

mpdodgson-Apparently you never watch Beck you only repeat what you hear on the MSM. Beck has proof with sound-bites and video of everything he talkes about. He has challanged the WH to respond as to what he is supposedly "lying" about and guess what? Nothing from them.

Given the current procedural technology(CPT) reimbursement rates for mammography, there does not appear to be a significant profit margin. The current pro-fee rate for CPT 77055 (plain film unilateral mamograph) is $35.71. The pro-fee for bi-lateral mammo (CPT 77056) is $44.37. While this seems like alot, this must cover the physician total cost including read, insurance, medical record and professional services rendered. The facility reimbursement for the same proceedures are: $49.05 (CPt 77055) and $63.12 (CPT 77056). These tech fees must cover the entire costs of equipment, film, overhead, chemicals and tech support costs, not to mention facility expenses. Additionally, the mammo film, reading results and diagnostic paperwork is required to be stored for a minimum of 7 years--all at the expense of the diagnostic facility.

I could spend hours trying to explain the reasons for the current cost of these procedures, but suffice it to say--NOBODY is getting filthy rich on doing these tests at the current reimbursement rates. If there are factual reasons to dispute this, I'd be more than willing to listen before getting into the cost of equipment, service, chemicals, film, digital PACS etc..........

You know, you could just write off crap like those comments as bs that doesn't really represent the Christian people of this area...but there ar time I just don't know.

I hope, I really hope, your son, or daughter, or Mom, or wife, never contracts the AIDS virus by mistake.

But I really do hope some health care worker tells you sometime there's a chance of it, albeit remote, of infection. Maybe, just maybe that will shake you out of your scary bigoted small shelled world.
