Column's nonsense

So columnist Charles Krauthammer ("Obama Should Start Preparing His Three Envelopes," Oct. 31) thinks that President Barack Obama needs to stop scapegoating George W. Bush?

President Obama's critical mistake was in not summoning the killer-instinct to investigate, expose and prosecute the Bush/Cheney wrongdoings immediately upon taking office.

As a result, unchallenged conservatives like Krauthammer roll blithely on, peddling their heartless, simplistic, discredited nonsense as if the last decade had never happened.

George W. Bush was in office for nine months before the World Trade Center attacks. Blinded with grief, the nation absolved him of any blame for letting it happen. Though evidence abounds that he ignored credible and explicit warnings from his national security advisers, Mr. Bush got a pass.

President Obama, by comparison, has been in office just two months longer than George W. Bush was on 9/11. Far from giving him the benefit of a doubt, right-wing conservatives malign his slightest action hysterically, as if he were some uppity liberal Antichrist signaling the End of Days.

Actually, they might believe that. Literally.

It's unlikely that Mr. Bush and the vile, delusional Dick Cheney will ever face justice for their bloodthirst and incompetence. They bank, probably correctly, on the truth of their legacy being filed and forgotten in the books and newspapers that too many Americans are too lazy to read.

Which is why, less than a year into Mr. Obama's term, Charles Krauthammer, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and our local blowhards can continue to spin Barack Obama as the problem and not the solution.

My, my, Mr. Ashbaugh; hit a nerve, did we?  Fact: 9/11 was an armed attack against US citizens on US soil; responding to it was not optional, nor was declining to respond the choice of most Americans.

There has been no attack from any outside enemy or force during Mr. Obama's administration.  The money that has been spent thus far under his administration has been spent on left-wing social engineering.  Even if you don't like the description, them's the facts about the public debt we carry.  Very little of it was there when the big "O" took his oath of avarice, oops, I menat office.

You say "W" allowed the 9/11 attacks to happen.  This plot did not begin with Mr. Bush's election; why the myopia, hmm?  Why is it you go no further back in the timeline, eh?  It wouldn't be because that would sully the legacy of "America's first black President", would it?

The legislation being rammed through Congress will weaken & impoverish this nation to a degree that will make the Bush era look like "the good old days".  The hammer will drop, conveniently enough,  after the next Presidential election cycle  The parasitic majority in DC has delayed the cost increases of "healthcare reform" until then.  I know we can rest assured that as Obama's minions are grinding the Constitution (and my paycheck) into dust, you will still dutifully stand atop the ramparts, blaming anyone & everyone but Obama for the mess.

It has beome painfully apparent that "organizing" &

'leading" are different things, and one is a poor substitute for the other.

Be careful what you wish for, Mr. Ashbaugh.  If you contort the law to allow the Democrats to reach back & pillory Bush & Cheney, you will be opening Pandora's Box for Mr. Obama.  Set the precedent, and if it succeeds, your opposition will use it.  And we both know Mr. Obama's already bountiful supply of skeletons certainly continue to grow; it's the Chicago way!

boy, Rich's letter is rich in leftist claptrap.  yes, 9/11 happened in Bush's first year, but we could have had Osama 3x during the Clinton administration.  add to that the wall Jamie G. put up between the CIA and FBI (mainly to hid the Chinise money for technology that was going on) blocked any info sharing and prevented any action to possibly stop it, and 9/11 is a fault of the clinton administration.  are you still bent about the lies the Dems told about the patriot act?  funny that your buddy Barry O isn't ending it.

bush and cheney did nothing ciminal.  right now, everything obama and the dem controlled congress is doing is unconstitutional.  add to that, obama has ran up the debit more in his 10 months of office than bush did in 8 years!  and you wonder why his policies get slammed?  (and yes, it's his policies, not himself like the libs were towards bush).

It's pretty funny for Charles "Obama Derangement Syndrome" Krauthammer to rant about "blaming Bush" when Republicans have done nothing for the past 11 years except say "Yeah, but Clinton."
