A quick and dirty poll

Would you buy a house in Homewood - to live in, not a rental -if you knew that you could get a 50% rebate on the purchase price?

Elwin,

WOW!!  What an excellent question!  Yes I would buy a house in Homewood (if I lived in Pgh).  What is needed is a 'LAND CONTRACT' financing program.  This would be a short term (5 to 10 yrs) ownership plan that would put property in the hands of working individuals with poor credit.  It would be automatically deducted from the owner,s checking account.  I wonder if a program can be sponsored by the CHURCHES or the local governments via the stimulas program.  Make it a non-profit program with a low interest rate to cover expenses.

Hi Al - I don't much about the stimulus program, but I can easily imagine a church executing your idea. Any church folk want to weigh in?
