On the surface, this story looks as if it could be a negative, just taking a glance at the headline makes you think that West Virginia football could be at a disadvantage because the program has failed to get the amount of recruits from western Pennsylvania that it used to. Now, with all that said, the story can also be looked at another way -- West Virginia has had success recruiting other areas (places with more talent) in this country and are making deeper in-roads there.
My thought is that the truth is somewhere in the middle.
It is a myth that you can recruit only in western Pennsylvania -- or Pennsylvania as a whole for that matter -- and be successful. But, with that said, there is still some top shelf talent here that the Mountaineers have missed out on, talent that could be helping the program now and in the future.
You need to read the story to get a full grasp of what the situation is, and you can arrive at your own decision.
