As Stewart would say it, Devine is "dinged up"

By Colin Dunlap | 6:15 a.m. Tuesday

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- West Virginia running back Noel Devine is dealing with a gimpy ankly.

He injured it against Louisville, was obviously hobbled against Cincinnati and used the time off to heal up.

But, with that said, Mountaineers coach Bill Stewart was guarded about exactly how injured Devine is, and exactly what the status of the speedy Floridian is heading into Friday's Backyard Brawl.

You can't blame Stewart, as he needs to play this one close to the vest.

Devine's injury was the lead item to my notebook in Tuesday's editions of the Post-Gazette.

Colin,

I haven't seen it posted anywhere yet. Any word on the uniform combo for the Pitt game?

EersFan70-

I have not found out...asked a few people on Monday and I didn't think they had decided at that point.

Being that they lost against Pitt wearing yellow down there in 07, I wouldn't expect to see yellow.

Actually, I'm hoping for solid blue. We haven't worn that combination yet this year, and it's my personal favorite. Thanks for the reply, Colin.

It's gold, not yellow.  Although they do really look more yellow, and yellow is an apt description for our play that horrid night.  I was wondering about this myself...a lot of people never wanted to see those uniforms again, but they have worn them a few times since that night, and I wouldn't be surprised if they did it again.  No talk of a special exemption white-out like we had for Senior Day last year.  I agree with the above, I like the blue on blue look the best.
