What the players said Tuesday night; Kudos to Keith Tandy

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- Got back not too long ago from the weekly player availability. No real surprises.

Everyone seemed to have put the South Florida loss behind them.

Everyone seems to be focused on Louisville.

But, there is something that needs mentioned, something that should not, and will not, go unnoticed by this reporter -- and shouldn't go unnoticed by the West Virginia football fan base.

The protocol is this: Players are requested, and then given the option to talk. Simply put, they can say "yes" or "no."

You know who was requested by a couple media members, walked in and faced the music Tuesday night? Keith Tandy.

I'll just say this: It says a whole lot about the character of that young man.

There have been many players, who have performed well in victories who have been requested and chose not to speak with the media.

Say what you will about Tandy's play against USF, but what cannot be called into question is what he did tonight. Takes a lot of backbone to do it.

Some audio from Tuesday night:

Offensive coordinator Jeff Mullen says QB Jarrett Brown is continually getting better:

Defensive coordinator Jeff Casteel talks about Louisville's uncertainty at quarterback:

Quarterback Jarrett Brown says you have to forget about the past:

Linebacker J.T. Thomas chats about making statements early in games:

So Tandy faced the music......what did he have to say?

Tandy took the blame, said it was his fault, said he'd work harder.

I was speaking to Jarrett Brown at the time, wasn't able to get my recorder near Tandy close enough for audio.

It was a move that took a lot of backbone on his part.

That did take a lot of backbone on his part, glad to hear it.  Thanks for the update Colin.

Keep up the great work!
