- Well I said he wasn't "this bad" and that he'll come out of it eventually and Jimmy Rollins is proving me right. Rollins is batting .389 with 1 HR and 5 RBI in the last 5 games. He's made a few adjustments to his timing at the plate and he appears to be back on track.

- Texas Rangers all star outfielder Josh Hamilton is once again coming off the DL and returning to the lineup. After having another long stay on the DL, owners are hoping that worst is behind him and that he'll be ready to produce right out of the gate and play like a first rounder.
- Pitching legend Randy Johnson strained his left shoulder yesterday while batting when he took an awkward swing. Once again, the DH should be in both leagues. I'm sick of pitchers being automatic outs or worse getting injured while being an automatic out. Its time for baseball to use some common sense. Then again, they're the only league that doesn't use a salary cap and the all star game decides home field advantage in the World Series. Common sense packed its bags and left baseball years ago. Anyways, back to Johnson there is no word on how long he'll be out, but this could simply be just a case of him needing some extra rest.
- He hasn't been bad, but he hasn't been Johan Santana lately either. The Mets ace seems to have hit a bit of a rough patch over the past month. Santana has only struck out more than 3 batters one time since May 27th when he struck out 4. His ERA and win / loss record haven't been great either. After starting off so good in the first two months, he's really dropped off. Let's hope he can get back on track after the All Star break. Owners that spent high picks on him and starting to feel the sting of his ineffectiveness on the mound.
- The Phillies have an interest in Pedro Martinez according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. If you're as desperate as the Phils for pitching, you may want to consider it. His ERA probably won't be anything to throw a party over, but his K's and wins should roll in.
- Since getting sent down to Indianapolis, Ian Snell has looked unhittable. According to the number one newspaper in Pittsburgh (sorry about the plug), Snell has been dominating and has not surrendered a single earned run in 14 innings. Don't throw away your Ian Snell ticket yet, he could come back in a big way in the second half with renewed confidence.
- More good news from the injury front, Cubs 3B Aramis Ramirez will rejoin the team today. A-Ram was looking very good this season before the injury and with Derek Lee hitting the ball well, that should only help get the Cubbies cleanup hitter back into form quicker.
- Has anyone else noticed that suddenly, Vladimir Guerrero is a hitting machine again? He has three homers in his last 10 games and it appears as though his power is coming back. This has to be very encouraging news for Vlad owners that have been watching him struggle the last couple years.
