The NFL Thanksgiving week played out just like actual Thanksgiving this week. A big feast on Thursday and only a few leftovers were available on Sunday. Four of the five stars today, played on Thanksgiving. While all of the Stumblers played three days later. Apparently they didn't make it to the fridge because they really stunk it up.
Stars
Brian Westbrook - After dropping off the radar for the last 4 weeks and showing up in the Stumblers club, B-West is back. Westbrook finished with 130 total yards and 4 TDs. Westbrook has a tough matchup with the G-Men next, but faces Cleveland after that on Monday night.
Donovan McNabb - As predicted, McNabb bounces back in a BIG way against the Cardinals after a drama filled week leading up to it. Donovan scorched the Cardinals for 260 yards passing and 4 TDs.
Chris Johnson - Running against the Lions really isn't an accomplishment these days, but the way Johnson did it this week, he had to be granted access to the Stars lounge. In between checking on my daughter in her nap and going back to eat my Thanksgiving meal, I checked the scores and stats from this game and saw that Johnson had 84 yards, 2 TDs and did it with only 4 carries! Johnson finished the game with 125 rushing yards.
Tony Romo - Nobody had an easier job on Thursday than Tony Romo. He picked apart the Seahawks for 331 yards and 3 TDs in the Cowboys 34-9 victory. This may be the last time we see Romo in the Star section this season though. He has a brutal schedule the rest of the way (Steelers, Giants, Ravens, Eagles)
DeAngelo Williams - His 4 game 100 yard streak was snapped, but he more than made up for it with 4 TDs as he led the Panthers past the Pack, 35-31.
Stumblers
Peyton Manning - One of the best things about owning Peyton Manning is you know that each week you can depend on him to score you a fair amount of fantasy points, no matter who he's playing against. That was how I felt up until this week. In Cleveland, Peyton experienced one of his worst games of his career with just 125 passing yards and 2 INT's (-2 fantasy points). He should bounce back strong the next two weeks though as the Colts play host to the Bungles and the Lions.
Joseph Addai - Like his quarterback, JA played like a JA rushing for only 51 yards and loosing a fumble. The Browns were giving up over 140 yards per game on the ground this season and finishing with just 51 yards is ridiculous.
LaDainian Tomlinson - Those of you still waiting for LT's big second half are either annoyed but still patiently waiting or have given up on him altogether. Playing against another soft defense in a must win game for the Chargers, Tomlinson ran for just 24 yards. Fortunately for him, the Raiders are next on the schedule and he has always enjoyed big success against the silver and black.
Ronnie Brown - With the way the Rams have been getting smashed by RBs over the past few weeks, Ronnie Brown looked like a great play going into the week. Well... not so much. Just 48 yards rushing and one 12 yard pass. He scored a TD, but until his yards climb, he's a mediocre fantasy back.
KDKA - I'm not sure which part was my favorite. The part where Fitzpatrick fumbles the ball as he's rolling out and no one is around him. Or maybe it was all the times he had his passes batted down. Cedric Benson running for 1.7 yards per carry was really entertaining too. Oh I know what my favorite part was, it was the 11 punts (18 total in the game) the Bengals had. I don't know about you, but I can never see enough punts. Especially when they huddle around the ball and wait for it to stop rolling before downing it. Great action. Seriously, though this needs to stop. I don't care that the Ravens and Bengals are both in the Steelers division and neither does anyone else. Being force fed the Bengals or Ravens every week at 1pm because the Steelers play at 4pm or later is cruel and unusual punishment. Stop picking the divisional game and pick the best game available! Football fans like to see good football games, not punts and if you didn't know the Ravens / Bengals game was going to be a punt-a-thon, then you need to let someone that knows something about football pick these games.
