-Crosby. All business:

-Bad times for Rangers captain Chris Drury:

-Avery with some bitter beer face:

-Say... that guy next to Jordan Staal looks awfully familiar:

-This was seemingly the only puck New York's Stephen Valiquette could locate:

-Jay McKee's hand injury actually forced him to spend a night in the hospital.

-So... Larry Murphy or Sergei Gonchar?

-Marc-Andre Fleury is old.

-Dustin Jeffrey returned from a suspension and had two goals and an assist for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 4-3 loss to the Syracuse Crunch. Mark Letestu added three assists for the Penguins.

-"I had to accept the punishment and it was a fair punishment. Coming back today, I wanted to prove to my teammates I’m here to play hockey. Yeah, I made some bad decisions, but I paid my dues and I’m ready to get back to help this team win some hockey games." - Jeffrey.

-Jordan Fox had two goals and an assist for the Wheeling Nailers in a 5-2 win against the Cincinnati Cyclones.

-Happy 66th birthday to former Penguins coach Bob Berry. Berry was Mario Lemieux's first professional coach and spent three seasons in the mid 1980s with the Penguins. His 240 games coached are the third most in franchise history.

-Happy 60th birthday to former Penguins defenseman Yvon Labre. Labre spent parts of two seasons in Pittsburgh in the early-1970s before joining the expansion Capitals via the 1974 expansion draft. Along with Kevin Hatcher, he is one of two former Capitals captains to have played for the Penguins.

Atlantic Division

-Scoreboard Watch for the Penguins: Patrik Elias (above) and Brian Rolston each had two goals and two assists for the Devils in a 6-1 rout of the Islanders. Mike Mottau added a goal and an assist while teammate Jamie Langenbrunner recorded two assists. Martin Brodeur made 22 saves in the win. -Check out this save Miller made:

-Someone, either Buffalo's Toni  Lydman, left, or Steve Montador, hooked Carolina's Ray Whitney here:

-Bad times for Carolina's Michael Leighton:

-The NHL suspended Sabres forward Patrick Kaleta two games for this hit on Flyers forward Jared Ross Friday:

-Kaleta's supsended. Fine. But how is that worth two games while this hit by Washington's Ovechkin last week on Kaleta not worty any sort of discipline?

-Ovechkin has a prior history in terms of controversial hits. And that is a factor the NHL weighs heavily when doling out punishment. And both hits were borderline. And the victim was injured in both instances. So what's the difference?

-And what about this hit by Philadelphia's Mike Richards on Florida's David Booth?

-Booth can't even watch television without feeling sick over a month after that hit let alone think about stepping foot on a rink. Why did Richards and Ovechkin escape punishment?

-The NHL's double-standard. Ovechkin and Richards are stars. Kaleta isn't. The NHL has adopted the NBA's standards when it comes to treating star players. The only difference is, when Kobe Bryant goes to the free-throw line for a touch foul, no-one is injured. When Ovechkin runs a guy from behind, someone's quality life is at jeopardy.

-Bradley also had issues with the back of the head of Canadiens defenseman Josh Gorges:

-This photo of Los Angeles' Wayne Simmonds licking his face is just plain funny:

-We don't want to say Chicago's Brent Sopel had too much torque on this shot but...

-Happy times for Chicago captain Jonathan Toews:

-The Stars recalled forward Fabian Brunnstrom from Texas of the AHL and activated forward Brian Sutherby (groin) from injured reserve.

-The Coyotes loaned forward Viktor Tikhonov, a first-round pick in 2008, to CSKA of the KHL.

-Anaheim coach Randy Carlyle has pushed former Penguin Ryan Whitney and the other Ducks defensema to shoot the puck more. The results have paid off.

Am I the only one who thinks that while, yes, the Oiler's jerseys do look sharp, they're not exactly...all that different from what they normally wear? The only serious difference between their home jerseys and third jerseys are some orange on the shoulders and sleeves...also, is the one referenced as a throwback their "alternate" jersey or did they change their home jerseys to -be- the throwbacks?  Because shop.nhl.com has the one pictured here listed as their home jersey and the one sans orange shoulders as their third.

Also, in Penguins-related news, I'm hearing that supplementary discipline is a possibility on Cookie, but Armstrong (and obviously Ovie and Richards from Booth, etc, etc.) are in the clear.

Just like the rest of the hockey fans out there, I call B.S.  I don't think Cooke's hit was dirty as much as it just was irresponsible, but I still think it warrants a light suspension because either way a guy could really get hurt.  They just need to get their act together and start handing them out to ALL of those hits.
