Man-games lost - 11-18-09

"

With players such as Brooks Orpik (above) and Tyler Kennedy sidelined, the Penguins are beat up. And statistically, they're one of the most beat up teams in the league. But surpisingly, they've "only" lost the fourth-most man games in the NHL this season:

Team Man-Games
Lost
Canucks 109
Oilers 105
Avalanche 83
Islanders 77
Penguins 73
Canadiens 70
Blackhawks 65
Sharks 65
Capitals 64
Devils 62
Blue Jackets 58
Blues 57
Hurricanes 57
Wild 55
Maple Leafs 52
Red Wings 52
Predators 48
Stars 44
Thrashers 44
Panthers 42
Flyers 38
Bruins 37
Coyotes 37
Senators 33
Sabres 32
Kings 31
Rangers 23
Ducks 22
Flames 15
Lightning 7

Note: We mis-read a list provided by the NHL and severly undershot the Canucks' total. They lead the lead with 109 games. Apologies for the error.

Not sure how many of the teams above us have on the shelf currently, but we could catch up.  Even if Talbot & Gonchar play Thursday, guys like Letang, Kunitz, Kennedy, Orpik and now McKee will be out another week to month. So for the time being, thats 5 man games we miss each game.

Definitely not a list I want seeing the Pens on top of (why couldn't that be Power Play success rate :)

Are the Flyers still listing Hatcher and Rathje as scratches? Haha.

But in all seriousness, we might not have the most man games lost, but our injuries have been to the most significant part of their respective team.
