-Happy 32nd birthday to former Penguins defenseman Richard Lintner. Lintner, along with Joel Bouchard, Rico Fata and Mikael Samuelsson, came to Pittsburgh in a 2003 trade that sent Mike Wilson, Alex Kovalev, Janne Laukkanen and Dan LaCouture to the Rangers.
-Happy 64th birthday to former Penguins forward Jim Shires. Shires contributed three points in 18 games to the 1972-73 Penguins.
Atlantic Division

-Jamie Langenbrunner and Cory Murphy each had a goal and an assist for the Devils who beat the Capitals, 5-2. Teammates Niclas Bergfors and Travis Zajac each contributed two assists for New Jersey which extended a winning streak to eight games. Martin Brodeur (above) made 27 saves in the win which was the 1,000th for the franchise since it moved to New Jersey. Mike Green led Washington with two assists. The Capitals had a four-game winning streak snapped.
-New Jersey's Matt Halischuk scored his first career NHL goal:
-Zach Parise is as dangerous as ever on a breakaway:
-Green probably crashed the crease a little too much here:

-Devils coach Jacques Lemaire has started his second tenure with New Jersey 14-4-0. His first tenure started with the same mark.
-Shootout goals from Ales Kotalik, Vaclav Prospal and P.A. Parenteau gave the Rangers a 2-1 win at Ottawa. Henrik Lundqvist made 35 saves in the win.

Northeast Division

-Ryan Miller (above) made 29 saves and led the Sabres to a 3-2 win at Philadelphia. Buffalo extended a winning streak to three game. Jeff Carter led the Flyers with a goal and an assist. Philadelphia had a five-game winning streak snapped.
-Buffalo's Steve Montador put a lot into this shot:

-Canadiens forward Brian Gionta is dealing with a "lower-body" injury.
Southeast Division

-Shootout goals by Steven Reinprecht and Nathan Horton gave the Panthers a 5-4 win against the Islanders. Stephen Weiss had a goal and an assist in regulation for Florida while Tomas Vokoun made 38 saves in the win. John Tavares led New York with a goal and an assist in regulation.
-Vokoun couldn't quite stop Nielsen on this shootout attempt:

-Sad times for Islanders goaltender Dwayne Roloson:

-Panthers coach Pete DeBoer said injured forward David Booth (concussion) is weeks away from returning to the lineup.
-The Thrashers have found some chemistry with the line of Ilya Kovalchuk (17 points), Nik Antropov (16 points) and Maxim Afinogenov (16 points).
-This is a few days old, but check out this goal Afinogenov scored against the Kings Friday:
Central Division
-Pekka RInne made 20 saves for the Predators in a 2-0 shutout of the Canadiens. Steve Sullivan scored both of Nashville's goals. From the "Life's No Fair" department, Montreal's Carey Price tied a franchise record with 53 saves and still lost.

-Happy times for the Predators. Not so much for Montreal's Travis Moen:

-The Predators' 55 shots on net set a franchise record.
-Henrik Zetterberg had a hat trick and two assists for the Red Wings who won a wild 7-4 games against the Ducks. Teammate Daniel Cleary added a goal and two assists while Brian Rafalski contributed a goal and an assist. Ryan Getzlaf led Anaheim with a goal and three assists.

-Predators forward Wade Belak is dealing with a "lower-body" injury.
-The Blackhawks will honor former star forward Jeremy Roenick prior to tonight's game.
-The Blue Jackets are awarding the strong play of former Penguins backup goaltender Mathieu Garon in the form of another start.
Northwest Division

-Jarome Iginla (above) had two goals and led the Flames to a 5-2 win at Toronto. Teammates Dustin Boyd and Eric Nystrom each contributed a goal and an assist while Miikka Kiprusoff made 38 saves in the win. Francois Beauchemin led Toronto with a goal and an assist.

-Former Penguin Paul Bissonnette dropped the gloves with Dallas' Krys Barch:
-Doan cutting across the ice between Dallas' Brad Richards and Karlis Skrastins:

-Anze Kopitar's shootout goal gave the Kings a 2-1 win at Tampa Bay. Jonathan Quick made 28 saves in the win. Tampa Bay got 29 saves from Antero Niittymaki.
-Kings defenseman and former Penguin Rob Scuderi suffered a "lower-body" injury last night. He was seen in the locker room with a protective boot on his foot and quipped "It's my shoulder."
-Tampa Bay's Zenon Konopka (6-foot-9, 211 pounds) more than held his own in a fight with a much larger Raitis Ivanans (6-foot-4, 240 pounds) of Los Angeles:
-Two assists from Dan Boyle helped the Sharks win at St. Louis, 3-1. Evgeni Nabokov made 38 saves in the win.

-Daneca Butterfield made 15 saves for the Robert Morris' women's team in a 3-1 loss at Niagara.
