Atlantic Division
-Two goals from Daniel Briere helped the Flyers beat the Senators, 5-1.
Jeff Carter, Chris Pronger and Kimmo TImonen each added two assists
while Ray Emery made 22 saves in the win against his former team.
Philadelphia has won five consecutive games.
-Ottawa's Matt Carkner didn't quite connect with this right hand on Philadelphia's Ian Laperriere:

-A team from Pennsylvania has the NHL's best power play at 27.9 percent. Try to guess which one it is.
-Devils overlord Lou Lamoriello is against the NHL's participation in the Olympics.
Northeast Division

-Marc-Andre Bergeron had a goal and two assists for the Canadiens in a 4-2 win at Phoenix.
Teammates Mike Cammalleri (above) and Brian Gionta each contributed a goal an
assist while Tomas Plekanec recorded three assists. The Coyotes got
goals from former Penguins Paul Bissonnette and Robert Lang.
Bissonnette's goal was his first NHL goal. FIre Ray Shero and Craig
Patrick.

-Bissonnette also got into a fight with Montreal's Jay Leach. It's fair to say Bissonnette won this one:

-Bruins forward Milan Lucic returned to the ice to practice for the first time since suffering a broken right index finger Oct. 16.
-The Maple Leafs put defenseman Mike Komisarek on injured reserve
due to a town quadricep muscle. With Komisarek injured, the team
recalled defenseman Carl Gunnarsson from their AHL affiliate in Toronto
and demoted forward Jay Rosehill.
Southeast Division

-Ilya Kovalchuk (above) return to the lineup for the first time since
missing six games due to a broken foot and contributed a goal and two
assists in the Thrashers' 5-3 win against the Rangers.
Teammates Rich Peverly added a goal and two assists as well while
Evander Kane contributed a goal and an assist. Former Penguin Johan
Hedberg made 33 saves in the win. Fire Craig Patrick. Marian Gaborik
led New York with a goal and an assist.

-Thrashers forward and former Penguin Colby Armstrong didn't exactly look happy after scoring a goal:

-Cory Stillman's shootout goal gave the Panthers a 1-0 win at Boston. Tomas Vokoun made 40 saves to earn the shutout. It was his third shutout in his last four starts.
-Thomas actually gets credit for a shutout since the game was scoreless going into the shutout.

Stamkos and former Penguin Ryan Malone each had a goal and an assist
for Tampa Bay. Fire Ray Shero. Malone's goal with 14.7 seconds left in
regulation sent the game to overtime. Double fire Ray Shero.

Brad Stuart added two assists while Jimmy Howard made 31 saves in the
win. The Red Wings have won five of their past six games.
-Red Wings broadcaster and former Penguin Larry Murphy totally ripped the Canucks' jersey:
-Detroit's Brad May had a pretty wild fight with Vancouver's Rick Rypien:
-Howard reacted negatively to the crease-crashing of former teammate Mikael Samuelsson:

-Pekka Rinne made 21 saves in a 3-1 win at St. Louis. Chris Mason made 34 saves for the Blues.
-St. Louis forward David Perron was kicked out of the game after hitting Predators forward J.P. Dumont from behind into the boards.
-St. Louis' David Backes got the best of Nashville's Andreas Thuresson here:

-Nashville's David Legwand flashed a beautiful hockey smile while celebrating with teammates Patric Hornqvist and Jerred Smithson:

-With Dumont healthy, Nashville demoted forward Dave Scratchard to Milwaukee of the AHL.
-The Blackhawks have the best penalty kill in the NHL at 87.1 percent.
-Chicago forward Dave Bolland was officially put on injured reserve due to a back ailment.
-Blackhawks forward and former Penguin Marian Hossa underwent light
contact during his first practice with Chicago. He has been sideline since offseason shoulder surgery.
-With goaltender Chris Osgood and forward Kirk Maltby dealing with illnesses, the Red Wings recalled goaltender Daniel Larsson from Grand Rapids of the AHL.
-Blue Jackets coach Ken Hitchcock went all Herb Brooks on his team after a 9-1 blowout loss to the Red Wings Wednesday.
Northwest Division
-The NHL suspended Canucks goon Darcy Hordichuk for one game and
fined his coach, Alain Vigneault, $10,000. The penalties were automatic
after Hordicuk got into a fight and was given an instigator penalty in
the final five minutes of regulation in a 6-1 loss to the Blues Tuesday.
-The Avalanche unveiled its new third jersey:

-Ugh. Noooo... thanks. That's way too much blue. That blue is a trim color and it shouldn't be a primary color.
Pacific Division

-Stephane Robidas' shootout goal (above, on San Jose's Evgeni Nabokov) gave the Stars a 3-2 win at San Jose. Dallas got a goal and an assist each from Mike Modano and James Neal while Marty Turco made 30 saves in the win.

-The NHL reinstated Henry Samueli as the Ducks' owner.
He had been suspended indefinitely following his plea in a federal
court on one felony count of making a false statement to the Securities
and Exchange Commission in 2008.
-The Coyotes are interesting in signing former Red Wings defenseman Chris Chelios.
Smythe Division
-James Mirtle takes a look at the franchise values released by Forbes Magazine and highlights the growing disparity between the haves and have nots.
-Because he's done such a wonderful job of turning Major League Baseball into an eight-team league, MLBPA executive director will help the NHLPA get itself together.
