Penguins

-Dave Molinari's recap from last night's game. Tyler Kennedy (above, with Matt Cooke, Craig Adams and Alex Goligoski) is on a pace for 41 game-winning goals.

-The Ottawa Citizen's recap. Stopping Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin wasn't enough for the Senators.

-The Associated Press' recap. The Senators had a three-game winning streak snapped.

-Highlights:

-Jordan Staal, Tyler Kennedy and Sidney Crosby speak:

-Senators forward and former Penguin Jarkko Ruutu compared his former team to the Oilers of the 1980s.

-Don Cherry's not exactly a big Penguins fan.

-Penguins defenseman Martin Skoula was officially included on the Czech Republic's preliminary roster for the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver. Former Penguins forwards Jaromir Jagr, Martin Straka, Petr Sykora and defenseman Michal Rozsival are also on the roster.

-We chatted with some of yinz yesterday. Here's the transcript.

-Sidney Crosby and Ben Roethlisberger are photogenic:

-There was a line brawl in Friday's Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins-Bridgeport Sound Tigers game:

-The AHL Penguins are having trouble scoring goals.

-Wilkes-Barre/Scranton forwards Wade Brookbank (knee) and Eric Tangradi (shoulder) are dinged up.

-Sean Collins, the Wheeling Nailers' fourth leading career scorer, announced his retirement.

-Happy 53rd birthday to former Penguins forward Rod Schutt. Teamed mostly on a line with Peter Lee and Greg Malone over parts of three seasons, Schutt had two 20-goal campaigns in the early 1980s for the Penguins. Perhaps his greatest contribution to the franchise was his role in this picnic jug commerical:

-Happy 49th birthday to former Penguins forward Darren Lowe. Lowe was the first black player in Penguins history. He is currently the head coach for the men's team at the University of Toronto.

Atlantic Division

-Shootout goals by Zach Parise and Jamie Langenbrunner gave the Devils a 3-2 win at Washington. Martin Brodeur made 31 saves in the win. Mike Knuble led the Capitals with a goal and an assist. Washington has lost four consecutive games.

-Sean Avery and Dan Girardi each had two goals for the Rangers in a 7-2 rout of the Maple Leafs. Wade Redden added had a goal and two assists for New York while teammate Marian Gaborik recorded a goal and an assist. Ian White led Toronto with two assists.

-Toronto's Colton Orr had a solid bout with his successor in New York, Donald Brashear:

-Islanders coach Scott Gordon called his team lazy after last night's loss.

-Islanders forward Tim Jackman looked like he had a rough night:

-A right eye injury prevents Devils defenseman Colin White from fightning.

-The Flyers are flying down to Fort Lauderdale, Fla. for a team bonding exercise that will include a fishing tournament. Scott Hartnell has perfected his technique:

-That might be the greatest video on YouTube.

-Flyers forward Simon Gagne is being bothered by another groin injury.

-Former Sharks defenseman Alexei Semenov denied a story his wife wouldn't let him sign with the Rangers.

Northeast Division

-"At the end of the day when I retire I don’t want to be remembered by how many people I’ve beaten up. I want to be remembered for the impact I have had in the community." - Canadiens enforcer and former Penguin Georges Laraque.

-The Canadiens demoted forward Yannick Weber to Hamilton of the AHL.

-Something's wrong with the Bruins.

-Boston goaltender Tuukka Rask getting beat by Colorado defenseman Scott Hannan:

-The "new and improved" Maple Leafs have started the season 0-4-1.

Southeast Division

-Martin St. Louis and Steven Stamkos each had a goal and an assist for the Lightning in a 3-2 win against the rival Panthers. Vincent Lecavalier had two assists while former Penguin Ryan Malone scored the game-winning goal. Fire Ray Shero. Antero Niittymaki made 31 saves in the win. Florida has lost four consecutive games.

-The Hurricanes, the Penguins' next opponent, lead the league in minor penalties with 39.

-Lightning forward Martin St. Louis keeps getting better with age.

-Former Panthers forward/Sidney Crosby punching bag Brett McLean has joined SC Bern in Switzerland.

-The Norfolk Admirals, Tampa Bay's AHL affiliate, released former Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins forward Tommy Goebel from his professional tryout contract.

Central Division

-Brent Seabrook's overtime goal helped the Blackhawks cap off a wild 6-5 comeback win against the Flames. Patrick Kane's goal and two assists helped spark Chicago to rally from a 5-0 deficit. The comeback tied a league record for biggest deficit overcome. Dave Bolland added a goal and an assist for the Blackhawks. Calgary got a goal and an assist each from Dustin Boyd and Olli Jokinen.

-Highlights:

-A day after demoting him, the Blackhawks recalled forward Jack Skille, a first-round pick in 2005, from Rockford of the AHL.

-Red Wings forward Kirk Maltby is dealing with a thigh injury.

Northwest Division

-The Avalanche got a goal and an assist from David Jones in a 4-3 win at Boston. Craig Anderson made 29 saves for Colorado. Michael Ryder led the Bruins with a goal and an assist.

-Jones came back to the lineup after missing the first four games of the season due to a chest injury.

-Two goals from Zach Stortini helped the Oilers rout the the Predators, 6-1. Gilbert Brule and Andrew Cogliano each recorded a goal and an assists while Dustin Penner added two assists. Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers made 40 saves in the win which snapped a seven-game losing streak in Nashville.

-"It was a huge lack of mental toughness within the group." - Flames coach Brent Sutter on his team's collapse last night.

-Colorado recalled defenseman Ryan Wilson from Lake Erie of the AHL.

Pacific Division

-Jonathan Quick made 28 saves for the Kings in a 2-1 road win against the Islanders. Former Penguins prospect Matt Moulson scored New York's only goal.

-The Kings' 4-1-0 start is their best effort to begin a season since the 1992-93 season when they went to the Stanley Cup final.

-Kings enforcer Raitis Ivanans looks like he smelled something pretty foul:

-Shootout goals by Peter Mueller and Lauri Korpikoski gave the Coyotes a 1-0 win at San Jose. Ilya Bryzgalov made 26 saves and recorded his second shutout of the season.

-The Sharks recalled forward Steven Zalewski from Worcester of the AHL.

-The Kings have found a solid line with Anze Kopitar, Ryan Smyth and Justin Williams.

I dont know if this info has been posted, and not sure if it works since I have TWC, but I found this article on the Canes blog.  Its about how to get free Center Ice if you complain about the DirecTV/Versus dispute.
