Penguins

-Ruslan Fedotenko's agent Allan Walsh posted a picture of his client's new back art (above, to go along with the ink from his 2004 title run with Tampa Bay) on his Twitter page. (Kudos to PensBurgh for the heads up.)
-Jordan Staal seems non-committal in regards to his day with the Stanley Cup.
-McFarlane Toys will release a new Mario Lemieux figurine in October.
Atlantic Division
-Today's "Offseason Acquisition Who Will Single-Handedly Save The Flyers From The Penguins" is forward Ian Laperriere.

-The Rangers re-signed restricted free agent defenseman Corey Potter.
Northeast Division
-Senators captain Daniel Alfredsson (right) is going to the bottom of this Dany Heatley mess dagnabit.
Southeast Division
-The Hurricanes signed former Canadiens and Penguins forward Tom Kostopoulos to a three-year contract worth $2.75 million.
-Gary Bettman has told Lightning owner and former Penguins forward Len Barrie to come up with $10 million by Friday to prove he has the funds to run the franchise.
Central Division
-"Dale's 58." - Blackhawks owner Rocky Wirtz, who is apparently not familiar with the concept of an age discrimination lawsuit, on why he demoted general manager Dale Tallon.
-Chicago president John McDonough didn't exactly hide the fact that Tallon wasn't "his guy."
-Wild forward and former Blackhawk Martin Havlat has been burning up his Twitter by ripping his former team over Tallon's demotion.
-The Red Wings' home opener next season will be against... guess who... Marian Hossa and the Blackhawks. The entire NHL schedule will be released later today.
-The Predators signed former Avalanche forward Ben Guite to a one-year two-way contract.
-The Blue Jackets re-signed minor league enforcer "Nasty" John Mirasty to a one-year deal.
Northwest Division

-The Flames signed former Capitals defenseman Staffan Kronwall. He is the brother of Red Wings defenseman Niklas Kronwall.
Pacific Division
-Will new Ducks forward Saku Koivu get an "A?"
-It doesn't look like the Stars will be bringing back former Penguins defenseman Sergei Zubov (right).
-Correction: Yesterday we noted the Stars' signing of forward Aaron Gagnon and mentioned he was a former Red Wing. That is incorrect. Gagnon was with the Grand Rapids Griffins, Detroit's AHL affiliate, last season due to the fact that the Stars do not currently have their own AHL affiliate and were lending a lot of their prospects to other AHL teams. We regret the error. (Kudos to EN reader Dave Wolf for the heads up.)
Smythe Division
-What recession? Gary Bettman made $7.1 million during the last fiscal year.
