NOTE: We plan on posting live updates direct from our couch throughout the day when the flood gates are opened up at noon. Please tune in.
Penguins

-Things get busy for Ray Shero and company beginning today at noon.
-Brooks Orpik and Rob Scuderi (above) were born and will train in the USA.
-James Mirtle has your roster for the U.S. Olympic orientation camp.
Atlantic Division

-The Flyers really want to keep forward Mike Knuble.
-The Devils re-signed defenseman Johnny Oduya (right) to a three-year deal worth $10.5 million.
-If Oduya is worth $3.5 million per season, what's Rob Scuderi worth?
-New Jersey did not extend a qualifying offer to restricted free agent defenseman Andy Greene.
-The Devils acquired forward Ben Walter and a conditional 2012 draft pick from the Islanders in exchange for forward Tony Romano.
-Trading forward Scott Gomez to Montreal cleared out a lot of salary cap space for the Rangers to waste on some other overrated player spend on free agents.
Northeast Division
-With a cap hit of $7.37 million, new center Scott Gomez has become the highest paid player in Canadiens history.
-The Bruins will not be aggresive in free agency.
-Hopefully former Penguins Alex Kovalev doesn't sign with Boston. The last two players to wear No. 27 for Boston - Peter Schaefer and Glen Murray - have been bought out of their contracts.
Southeast Division

-Hopefully you're not holding on to those Dany Heatley or Marian Hossa Thrashers jerseys.
-Don't expect the Capitals to be too aggressive with free agency.
Central Division
-Remember how the Penguins lost the Stanley Cup last year then had the uneasy situation involving free agent Marian Hossa (right)? Well... the Red Wings are going though that right now. We're sure you feel really sorry for them.
-"I’m not optimistic." - Detroit general manager Ken Holland on the prospects of keeping Hossa.
-Blackhawks forward Dave Bolland, who signed a new five-year deal Monday, has been texting unrestricted free agent teammate Martin Havlat encouraging him to stay in Chicago.
-Blue Jackets forward R.J. Umberger, who apparently hails from some southwestern corner of a certain Keystone State in the United States, was not invited to the U.S. Olympic orientation camp.
-Columbus hired Dave Rook as goaltending coach.
-The Predators expect to lose unrestricted free agent forward Vernon Fiddler and defenseman Greg Zanon.
Northwest Division
-Will the Wild try to blow "The Staals are brothers" out of the water with "The Koivus are brothers?"

-Minnesota general manager Chuck Fletcher refused to confirm if he made an offer to unrestricted free agent Marian Gaborik.
-Canucks general manager Mike Gillis flew to Sweden and made an offer in person to unrestricted free agent-to-be forwards Daniel and Henrik Sedin.
Pacific Division
-The Stars re-signed forward Jere Lehtinen (right) to a one-year deal with a base salary of $1.5 million. Incentives could bring the deal up to $2.5 million.
-The Ducks re-signed former Penguins forward and shootout ace Erik Christensen to a one-year deal worth $750,000. Fire Ray Shero. Anaheim declined to extend him a qualifying offer on Monday.
-Anaheim re-signed forward Troy Bodie to a two-year, two-way deal.
-For some reason, Coyotes owner Jerry Moyes prefers the $212 million offer Jim Balsillie made for his team instead of the $148 million offer from Jerry Reinsdorf.
