-Former Penguins forward Glen Murray lost his arbitration case with the Bruins.

Southeast DIvision
-The Panthers acquired the signing rights of free agent to be forward Steven Reinprecht from the Coyotes in exchange for minor league forward Stefan Meyer. Florida then signed Reinprecht to a three-year deal worth $2 million per season.
-Capitals forward Alex Ovechkin is the only multiple winner of the Hart Trophy who does not have a Stanley Cup title.
Central Division
-The Blues re-signed Keith Tkachuk to a one-year deal worth $2.15 million.
-The Blue Jackets will not re-sign restricted free agent forward Jiri Novotny.
Northwest Division
-The Avalanche hired former players Adam Deadmarsh and Steve Konowalchuk as assistant coaches.
-Colorado re-signed forward Cody McLeod to a three-year deal worth $3.1 million.
-As was first reported by ESPN, the Globe and Mail confirmed the NHL is kicking around the idea of holding a Winter Classic doubleheader. One game could be held in Boston while the other would be staged in Calgary.
Pacific Division
-The Coyotes re-signed forward Petr Prucha (right) to a two-year deal.
