Penguins-Capitals

-Michael Nylander was pretty much benched in the third period and overtime.
-Brooks Orpik said the Capitals were tired.
-The Penguins' season is just getting started while the Pirates' is all but over.
-"It's kind of a joke." Alex Ovechkin on the Capitals having seven penalties to the Penguins' two last night.

Bruins-Hurricanes
-Jussi Jokinen continues to score big goals for Carolina. His overtime score gave the Hurricanes's a 3-2 win against the Bruins. Jokinen and Sergei Samsonov each had a goal and an assist for Carolina which took a 2-1 series lead.
-Jokinen's goal:
-Jussi Jokinen = Clutch.
-It's hard to believe the Hurricanes got Jokinen for next to nothing in a deal with Tampa Bay before the trade deadline.
-Carolina forward Eric Staal carried his team once again.
-Jokinen and Bruins forward Mark Recchi began the season in Tampa Bay. Now, they're going at in the second round.
-A turnover by Boston captain Zdeno Chara led to Jokinen's goal.
-Bruins defenseman and former Penguin Andrew Ference left the game in the second period due to a "lower-body" injury.
-"We got outworked." - Bruins defenseman Dennis Wideman.
-Bill Cowher is one Pittsburgh transplant who has switched loyalties.

Red Wings-Ducks
-Anaheim defenseman James Wisniewski (right) was released from a hospital after he suffered a lung contusion in Game 3.
-Grit and toughness can only take you so far in the playoffs. You still need some pure goal-scorers like Ducks forward Teemu Selanne.
-The Ducks have been outshot in every one of their playoff games.
-The Red Wings need to start playing desperate.
Canucks-Blackhawks
-The Canucks don't mind being "Canada's Team."
-The Staals Sutters Ruutus Conachers Sedins are brothers.
-Game 4 is a must-win for the Blackhawks.
-Canucks defenseman Sami Salo ("lower-body" injury) could return for Game 4.
Calder Cup Playoffs
-The Capitals organization was just snake-bitten against the Penguins last night. Mark Letestu's overtime goal gave the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins a 3-2 win against the Hershey Bears. Adam Berkhoel made 23 save in the win. Hershey has a 2-1 series lead.
-Paul Bissonnette was hospitalized after he suffered a cut artery in his wrist.
IIHF World Championships
-Thrashers forward Ilya Kovalchuk had a goal and an assist and led Russia to a 4-3 quarterfinal win against Belarus. Former Penguins forward Aleksey Morozov had an assist for Russia. Another former Penguins forward, Konstantin Koltsov scored a goal for Belarus. Fire Craig Patrick.
-Former Flyers goaltender Robert Esche made 47 saves and the United States advanced to the semifinals with a 3-2 defeat of Finland.

Non-Playoff Stuff
Southeast Division
-The Lightning's owners are looking for suckers investors.
-Former Islanders defenseman Denis Potvin was let go as a television color analyst for the Panthers.
Pacific Division
-Ducks forward and former Winnipeg Jet, Teemu Selanne, would mind seeing his former franchise, now known as the Phoenix Coyotes, make a return to Canada.
-If Gary Bettman can't keep the Coyotes in Phoenix, will he lose his job?
-Coyotes coach Wayne Gretzky could stand to pocket upwards of $22 million depending on who buys the franchise.
-Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper wants another team in his country.
-The fate of the Coyotes has become the top story in Canada.
-The fans in Phoenix are not to blame for the mess the Coyotes have become.
