Another day, another batch of goodies from EN readers (and some leftovers from after Sunday's game from us).
-Jarrett Rathke keeps on sending us some amazing photos and captions on behalf of his father, Bob Rathke, of the Civic Arena's pre-Penguins days:

"Until September, 1966, trolleys ran in the median on Centre Avenue and
stopped at the Civic Arena. The attached photo was taken on Centre Ave.
at Sixth Avenue on June 24, 1966 - the Bigelow Apartments building is
to the left and the Arena is in distance. This was the last summer that
trolleys ran to the Arena. "

"A closer view of the Arena taken in January, 1963 when the building was
a little more than a year old and still had a shiny dome. The trolley
wire can be seen in the upper right corner of the photo."

"A view of the inside of the dome taken on January 18, 1964. Note that
the only lights for hockey games were the lights inside the ceiling of
the dome. A frame of "boxing" lights was suspended on cables around the
scoreboard, but the hanging lights over the ice surface weren't added
for several more years. It was kind of dark at the goal ends of the
ice."

"Attached is a photo my dad took at the Arena on January 18, 1964, the Pittsburgh Hornets third season in the Arena. Hornets won 6-3. That's Bronco Horvath breaking out of the Rochester Americans zone. He was in the NHL in the late 1950s and early 60s."
-Lauren Hopkins spotted a sippie (or is it "sippy?") cup for sale in PenStation at Mellon Arena with some spelling issues:

-Unless this is a tribute to the spelling of the city around 1900, this is inexcusable.
-Lauren also sent us some photos from some recent Erie Otters games where they're digging the green ice:

-And the regular run-of-the-mill white ice:

-Steve Mazefsky sent us a few randoms shots from thoughout the season. Sidney Crosby and Bill Guerin

-Eric Godard and Montreal's Georges Laraque having a chat:

-Detroit's Ty Conklin:

-A fan "welcoming" back Marian Hossa:

-FSN Pittsburgh is finding new and creative ways to advertise these days:

-Finallly, we wandered over to Gate 2 at Mellon Arena Sunday where fans watched several players depart in some fancy vehicles:

-Marc-Andre Fleury actually got out of his car to sign some autographs:
