-Goaltender John Curry has tied Sebastien Caron for most career wins in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins history.

-Wilkes-Barre/Scranton demoted forward Bryan Ewing and Jordan Morrison to the Wheeling Nailers.
-Former Penguins captain Jaromir Jagr's (right, in black) Avangard Omsk team pulled off a big upset in the octavofinals of the KHL playoffs. In other news, there's apparently an awesome word in some language like "octavofinals."
Atlantic Division
-Scoreboard Watch for the Penguins: So far so good for the Rangers in the Nik Antropov/Sean Avery/Derek Morris era. Chris Drury and Nikolai Zherdev each had a goal and an assist for the Rangers in a 4-2 road win against the rival Islanders. Antropov recorded an assist in his first game with the Rangers. Blake Comeau had a goal and an assist for the Islanders. The Rangers are in seventh place in the Eastern Conference with 74 points, just as many as the Penguins who are in eighth place. The Rangers have a tiebreaker based on fewer games played.
-Sean Avery was strong in his first game back with the Blueshirts.
-Following their yearly trade deadline purge, the Islanders have made their yearly recall of half of their AHL affiliate's roster. Defenseman Joe Callahan, Andrew MacDonald, forwards Jesse Joensuu and Joel Rechlicz were brought up from Bridgeport.
-Devils forward David Clarkson is dealing with a facial injury.
-As if getting blasted last night by Calgary wasn't bad enough, Flyers forward Daniel Briere reaggravated a groin injury which has cost him 51 games this season.
-New Flyers forward and former Penguins prospect Daniel Carcillo wants to help his team out in more ways than just fighting. Like drowning puppies.
Northeast Division
-So far so good for the Martin Gerber era in Toronto. The goaltender, picked off the scrap heap from Ottawa Wednesday, made 37 saves in his Toronto debut and led the Maple Leafs to a 2-1 win at Washington. The Capitals played without forward Alex Ovechkin, who is nursing a foot injury, and defenseman Tom Poti (groin). With the hot Penguins rolling into town Sunday, Washington is on a three-game losing streak.
-Mike Comrie, Dany Heatley and Jason Spezza each had a goal and an assist for the Senators in a 4-2 defeat of the Oilers. The Senators have gone 7-5-3 since Cory Clouston took over as head coach. Sam Gagner led Edmonton with two goals.

-After getting blown out in Buffalo Wednesday, Canadiens coach Guy Carbonneau went all Herb Brooks on his team.
-Canadiens goon and former Penguin Georges Laraque (right) is dealing with a wonky back again.
-Montreal demoted goaltender Marc Denis to Hamilton of the AHL.
-The Maple Leafs signed forward Jeff Hamilton and recalled forward Ben Ondrus from their AHL affiliate.
-New Bruins forward and former Penguin Mark Recchi was teamed on a line with Phil Kessel and Marc Savard last night.
-Visa problems are delaying former Penguins forward Dominic Moore from joining the Sabres. He was acquired from Toronto in a Wednesday trade.
Southeast Division
-While he's still a member of the team, Lightning forward and former Penguin Gary Roberts was not at his team's practice yesterday and his locker no longer had his name plate.
-Lightning forward Steve Downie was suspended 20 games by the AHL for hitting an official with his stick.
-Tampa Bay demoted defenseman Richard Petiot and forward Brandon Segal to Norfolk of the AHL.
-Washington's Alex Ovechkin is probable for Sunday's game against the Penguins.
-The Capitals have lost three games in a row for the first time under coach Bruce Boudreau.
-For forward Erik Cole, nothing could be finer than Carolina.
-Lightning goaltender and St. Louis native Mike McKenna could get a crack at his home town team tonight.
