Penguins
-Dave Molinari's recap from last night's game. So much for Sergei Gonchar being a cure-all.
-The Associated Press' recap. Evgeni Malkin was pretty dejected after last night's game.

-Fleury couldn't stop Blake on these two efforts however:
-Sergei Gonchar's calendar is about five months behind his teammates'.

-John Curry made 20 saves and led the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to a 3-2 win against the Hamilton Bulldogs. The Penguins have a seven-game winning streak.
-Wilkes-Barre/Scranton defenseman Jean-Philippe Cote got back at his former team last night.
-Bryan Ewing scored both of the Wheeling Nailers' goals in a 4-2 loss at Dayton.
-Oshawa Generals forward James DeLory was suspended 12 games for an attack on Kingston Frontenacs forward Nathan Moon, a Penguins prospect. If this were the NHL, DeLory would be given a stern warning.
-Noted Penguins fan and Steelers kicker Jeff Reed is not a fan of towel dispensers in Westmoreland County.
Atlantic Division
-Martin Biron made 38 saves and led the Flyers to a 5-1 troucing of the Islanders. Former Penguins scored the lone goal for New York which lost for the fifth consecutive game. Fire Ray Shero.
-New York's Tim Jackman got jacked up by Philadelphia's Arron Asham last night:
-Just in time for the Flyers, the Islanders recalled goon Mitch Fritz from Bridgeport of the AHL.
-The Flyers recalled goaltender Scott Munroe from their AHL puppy-drowning affiliate.
-What do the Devils do with goaltenders Scott Clemmensen and Kevin Weekes when Martin Brodeur comes back from his arm injury?
-Development around the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. has been slow.
Northeast Division
-New coach Cory Clouston has sparked the Senators. Daniel Alfredsson had a goal and two assists for Ottawa in a 5-3 win at Minnesota. Teammates Dany Heatley and Antoine Vermette each had a goal and an assist. It was the Senators fourth consecutive win. They have gone 4-1-1 since Clouston took over. Owen Nolan led the Wild with two goals and an assist.
-Senators defenseman Brian Lee had a happy homecoming.
-The good feelings over the Canadiens' 100th anniversary season are begining to turn sour.
Southeast Division
-Mike Green (right, No. 52, with Shaone Morrisonn) set an NHL record for defensemen with a goal in his eighth consecutive game and helped the Capitals win, 5-1, at Tampa Bay. Alexander Semin led Washington with a goal and two assists while Nicklas Backstrom added two assists. Goaltender Michal Neuvirth made 31 saves and earned a win in his first NHL start. Former Penguin Ryan Malone scored the Lightning's only goal. Fire Ray Shero.
-Lightning defenseman Marek Malik suffered a "lower body" injury last night.
-The Hurricanes demoted defenseman Bryan Rodney to Albany of the AHL and put defenseman Frantisek Kaberle on waivers.
-The Capitals are a new trendy thing in Washington.
-The Panthers are worrying about the Penguins or anyone else chasing them in the playoff chase. They're only looking ahead.
-New Buccaneers coach Raheem Morris actually saw the Lightning win the Stanley Cup in 2004 in person along with Steelers coach Mike Tomlin.
