Central Division

-Scoreboard Watch for the Penguins: Kristian Huselius had two goals and an assists for the Blue Jackets who won at Carolina, 5-1. Rick Nash added three assists while teammate Manny Malhotra had a goal and an assist. Carolina is in ninth place in the Eastern Conference with 59 points the same amount as the Penguins. The are ahead of the Penguins who are in tenth place on account of having played fewer games.

-Martin Havlat had two goals and an assist for the Blackhawks in a 6-2 rout of the Stars. Jonathan Toews added a goal and two assists while teammate Troy Brouwer (right) had a goal and an assist.

-David Legwand had two goals in regulation and one in the shootout to led the Predators to a 3-2 defeat of the Bruins. Boston has lost four consecutive games for the first time this season.

-Predators forward Jordin Tootoo returned to the lineup last night after missing several games due to an "upper-body" injury. To make room for him, the Predators demoted Patric Hornqvist to Milwaukee of the AHL.

-There might not be room for them, but Red Wings coach Mike Babcock said forwards Darren Helm and Ville Leino belong on the NHL roster.

Northwest Division

-Matthew Lombardi had two goals and assist and led the Flames to a crazy 7-5 win at Phoenix. Calgary's Cory Sarich had his first career three-point game (one goal, two assists) while teammate Todd Bertuzzi added four assists. Viktor Tikhonov and Daniel Winnik each had two goals and an assist for the Coyotes.

-Shootout goals by Sam Gagner and Robert Nilsson gave the Oilers a 3-2 win against the Kings. Dustin Penner had a goal and an assist for Edmonton in regulation while Dwayne Roloson made 39 saves in the win.

-Check out this hit by Edmtonton's Ethan Moreau on Los Angeles' Dustin Brown and the subsequent fight between Moreau and Matt Greene:

-Former Penguins captain Jaromir Jagr denied reports he has had negotiations with the Oilers.

-Colorado defenseman Adam Foote is expected to return to the lineup today after missing 18 games due to an arm injury.

Pacific Division

-The Stars recalled defenseman Mark Fistric from Manitoba of the AHL and demoted Doug Janik to Rockford of the AHL for conditioning purposes.

-Despite suffering a torn ACL in November, Stars captain Brenden Morrow is aiming to make a return in the playoffs.

-Stars forward Sean Avery made his debut with Hartford of the AHL.

-Wayne Gretzky, who has failed to lead the Coyotes to the playoffs in his first two seasons behind the bench, is the NHL's highest-paid coach.
