WWGRD? Come off injured reserve.
The Lightning took former Penguins forward Gary Roberts (above) off injured reserve today and he will be in the lineup to face his former team tonight. He has not played since Nov. 29 due to an elbow injury. This will be his first game against the Penguins since his rights were dealt along with Ryan Malone's in a trade to Tampa Bay in the offseason.
To make room for Roberts, Tampa Bay put forward Jussi Jokinen on waivers and goaltender Mike Smith on injured reserve due to an "upper-body" injury.
Notes:
-Mike McKenna will start in net for the Lightning. He made his NHL debut last night against the Islanders in a relief appearance. In a 3-1 loss, he came in for Kari Ramo and stopped all 11 shots he faces.
-Lightning forward and former Penguin Adam Hall will appear in his 400th career game tonight.
EN Says: We don't expect Roberts to play more than 10 minutes tonight, but it will be interesting to see how fan welcome him back tonight. It will be even more interesting to see how they react when he blasts Kris Letang in the corner on a forecheck.
And if the Penguins can't beat a team with Mike McKenna in net, well... you do the math.
