Central Division

-The Blue Jackets put forward Rick Nash on injured reserve due to a "lower-body" injury. Forward Derek MacKenzie was recalled from Syracuse of the AHL.

-Columbus claims its home attendance and television ratings have increased this season.

-The Blue Jackets' rookies have stepped up big this season.

-The television ratings for the Winter Classic were the highest for a regular season NHL game in 34 years.

-The Red Wings sure like their paintball.

-The Wild needs forwards Andrew Brunette and Mikko Koivu to start scoring.

Pacific Division

-Trevor Daley's overtime goal gave the Stars a 5-4 comeback win against the Red Wings. Pavel Datsyuk led Detroit with a goal and two assists while Tomas Holmstrom had a goal and an assist.

-Coyotes rookie forward Kyle Turris (right) is learning about paying bills.

-Phoenix recalled forward Daniel Winnik from San Antonio of the AHL.

-The Coyotes were penalized 25 percent of their revenue sharing money last season.
