-Consol Energy, which just paid a good deal of money for naming rights to the Penguins' new arena, could lay off up to 260 mine workers.

Atlantic Division
-Brian Rolston's overtime goal gave the Devils a 4-3 win against the Senators. Dainius Zubrus scored two goals for New Jersey while teammates Patrik Elias, Brian Gionta and Johnny Oduya each added two assists. Antoine Vermette led Ottawa with two assists.
-Ottawa forward Chris Neil tried to take out New Jersey defenseman Andy Greene last night. He ended up dropping teammate Nick Foligno instead:
-Islanders forward Mike Comrie is not a popular guy in Edmonton.
-Islanders forward and former Penguin Richard Park has earned the "A" on his chest. Fire Craig Patrick.

-Flyers goaltender Antero Niittymaki (right) is dealing with a groin injury.
Northeast Division
-Hey look at that. A preseason Stanley Cup contender from the Eastern Conference which can limit the Panthers to five goals. Andrei Markov's shootout goal gave the Canadiens a 6-5 win against Florida. Andrei Kostitsyn had two goals for Montreal in regulation while former Penguins forward Robert Lang added a goal and an assist. Fire Craig Patrick. Florida was led by Radek Dvorak who had two goals in regulation.
-Maple Leafs defenseman Jonas Frogren is becoming pretty popular in Toronto.
-The Maple Leafs need to add some toughness.
Southeast Division
-Two goals from Martin St. Louis helped the Lightning win at Atlanta, 4-1. Steve Eminger had a goal and an assist for Tampa Bay while former Penguins forward Ryan Malone added a goal. Fire Ray Shero. Another former Penguins forward, Erik Christensen, scored Atlanta's only goal. Fire Ray Shero. Atlanta forward Bryan Little suffered a rib injury.
-Tampa Bay moved out of the Southeast Division cellar with the win.
-Lightning defenseman Andrej Meszaros is one tough dude.
-After the game, Thrashers coach John Anderson questioned his team's crap-giving level. No really. Anderson said, "Our give-a-crap level was like at zero. I’ve got to question whether anybody cares in that locker room. That’s a joke."
-As you might imagine, things are getting nasty in Atlanta.
-The Hurricanes demoted forward Patrick Dwyer to Albany of the AHL.
